Do you think it would be excellent to have some of the Ae
tracks performed on real live instruments (guitars, drums,
saxophone, contrabass, all real)?
Any of you play something musical?
I say Nuane deserves getting sax-arranged. (my top-fav by
now)

of jazz people, actually

Autechre played in real time on actual instruments? You'd
need to use lots of xylophones, marimbas, vibes, steel
drums, those hammered dulcimer thingies, all running through
interesting effects, and a couple-three John Coltranes to do
Nuane.

I'd like to see the Kronos Quartet cover some of the stuff
on Amber.

eventually i'd like to construct an adjustable didgeridoo.
that's got to serve some purpose in an autechre cover.

That could work as the warbly background noise in "foil"

How can you not know the names? Do you think of them as: the
one that goes gnaaaough KIKIKIKIKI braaaaap sknnnnnxxxxx?

The owner of the shop where I buy disks didn't know there
were names for the tracks on ep7 and lp5.

But does it make a difference? Most of the titles are just
like a cat walked across the keyboard...

hmmmmm.... see ive actually considered the idea before. i
personally thought seeing something like an autechre
unplugged would be cool. of course, it would be another
group doing it, since i dont rekin' these boys play any
traditional instruments. i've always thought if i was to
cover one autechre song and do it in a rock or jazz mode,
that somethign like "arch carrier" would be really intense.

i can't be bothered. i listen to entire albums at a time,
so i know what albums sound like as whole cohesive whatnots.
i remember some track numbers and a few names. if i were
to try to memorize the sound to title associations i might
just go insane. or maybe i'd leave my body and become
autechre (which refers to the music itself, not the
creators, if i remember correctly).

The tracktitles make sense. They sound like they are called.
In most cases. Take Bike for instance... And those wonderful
Gelk and Gaekwad thingies! The names are really deep. BTW,
on Peel Sessions 2 the tracktitles come in pairs, like Czr
(Gelk) and Sqr Map (Gaekwad). Which half is original?.. I
heard something about Peel himself naming the tracks...

I don't know the names of the tracks. I just know what ones
I like and I remember what number they are on what release.
I do that with all my music, although I guess it would be
different for you music theives with hoards of MP3's sitting
on your computer while the musicians who made them starve
and have to look for "real jobs"
