I'm training myself to do it. the closest to conciousness in a dream i ever had, was giving comments to my own actions in dreams.

sometimes I am aware that I sleep and its very relaxing. But I dont have control of dreams. Its just awareness of myself sleeping.

I used to have lucid dreams every night,.. but I sorta stoped doing it,.. like it lost novelty,. maybe I can drum up some more enthusiasm with SAWII, that reminds me of a period when I was LD all the time

It works best for me if I wake up then fall back to sleep again late morning.. Lucid dreaming one's of those things that just sounds like bs when u tell people, u can never really convey how real it feels, the hard part is not waking up once u've realised ur dreaming.. What worry's me slightly though is, how do I know I didn't dream I was having a lucid dream? Is there a difference?

a large portion of my dreams are 'lucid'..
like unseenmachine said, the hardest part for me is to not wake up once i realize im dreaming
if i dont, i can control it and change it around

spin around just when you realize its a dream. then the chance is bigger that you stay in it.

there are plenty of sites around that will tell you how to do this,.. that is where I originally got the information from,.. here's a few things to start you off
1) dream journal : there is a part of the brain that deletes the memory of a dream when you wake up, you need to reinforce the memories of your dream by writing them down as soon as you wake up, after a while you'll start to remember more and more dreams (aprox. 5 a night in about 3 weeks),.. this is so that if you do have a lucid dream,. that you do not forget the experience altogether
2) Reality test : this is the dangerous part, whenever you think ANYTHING is out of the ordinary in real life, do what's known as a "Reality Check" look for a digital clock or some written text, if it appears as jibberish,.. it's a sure sign that you are dreaming,.. you need to do these ALL the time,. once you get yourself into the habit it's only a matter of time before you start doing these reality checks in your dreams,.
3) dream signs : as you write down your dreams you might start to notice reccurring themes/object/colours these are known as "dream signs",. if you ever see this in real life,.. do a reality check
4) not panicking whenever you do a reality check,.. prepare yourself for the fact that you might be dreaming,.. if you panick,.. you'll more than likely wake up

once I did a reality test whilst riding my bike, convinced myself I was dreaming, and then stacked my bike after thinking I didn't need to balance anymore, I hadn't slept in 3 days so that's my excuse

the lucidity institute
very interesting site..
i never realized that's what lucid dreaming was, but i've done it quite often, usually when i drift back to sleep in the mornings waiting for my dad to wake me up...
they're usually about flying, and almost always in the mountains somewhere. not every time, mind you
