this is for the Cabbage man (he knows who he is)

ok ok......so i LOVED this song. not at all what i expected.
these are friends of yours? local? they sound like they'd be
from the UK or other parts unknown...ireland maybe. i'm
curious to see what the other song sounds like, if it's
'folky' like this one. thats my term for it, whatever the
genre it's beautiful....the guitar work harkens back to
yesteryear =0)

thanks for passing along the recommendation......=0)

In Gowan Ring is the main endeavor of troubador B'eirth with
occasional contributions from a collective of strange
musicians. Though their music is heavily influenced by all
sorts of occidental folk, they actually hail from the grassy
plains of Utah. Each new record of his becomes my new
favorite, I've no doubt 'Hazel Steps Through a Weathered
Home' will be In Gowan Ring's best work yet. If you're
interested, there's more information here :
http://www.bluesanct.com/bands/igr/index.html
I knew that you'd like him, seemed natural that you'd
gravitate towards it. The cds are rather cheap; you can get
them for $10-13 dollars from the link above. Strangefortune
also carries them if that's closer to you.

I'd recommend you pick up 'Hazel Steps..' as the current
edition is limited to 444 copies and at least one of them is
already gone! If I'm making them come across to you as some
sort of pretentious hard to digest obscure crusty
psychadelic folkband I'm really sorry - They're nothing of
the sort. If I had to make comparisons I'd say that
musically they sound similar to The Incredible String Band's
finer moments or maybe Comus... Really though, I've never
heard anything like them(him). You should look for the
songs 'Still Water Bonne' and 'Dandelion Wine'(the newer
rendition if it's at all possible to tell; it's off of the
In Gowan Ring compendium if that helps). Some other songs
you should download if you find the time:
current 93 - tamlin
michael cashmore(nature & organisation) - a silence song,
silent

There's also another song available from 'Hazel Steps
hrough a Weathered Home' at www.ingowanRing.com . The old
site at Bluesanctuary should also have downloadable version
of 'To Thrumb a Glassy Stem' somewhere..
