breaks come across much better, standard 4 to the floor just
gets repetitive and stupid.. which i think is why most
people get a bad impression of "techno" music, they hear
that crap and think it's all like that

Apples and oranges really

two different styles of music

but if I were to choose one it would be breaks

It depends on what you mean by breaks. Around these
parts, progressive breaks are gaining popularity in the
club/rave scene. Florida-import-break-trance type shit..

Breaks to me means bd - sn - - bd sn - '. Around 125
/ 130 BMP. This shit is way more annoying to me than 4/4
stuff. Simply because it seems like producers are going
"Hey, lets recycle all the old tricks from house/trance and
throw it over this type of beat instead". At least with 4/4
tunes no one is trying to pull and wool over anyones eyes...
The 4/4 is the constant and thats the basis allowing the
music to evolve and mutate. Current breaks production is a
regressive act IMO.

...Then of course theres 'nu skool breaks' which I am not
familliar enough with to speak about or hash out opinions
comfortably. But from what I hear, Tipper falls into
this catergory... hmm.

Ive heard breaks music I liked, and breaks music I've
hated... this goes for any genre really. But if I had to
choose, I'd say 4/4.
