Anyone else feel this way....

For like the past couple month's now I have seen this place
really degrade as far as thread subjects and peoples
attitudes. And at least to me, it seems that people are
becoming more and more hostile on here then ever before. If
you go to the plant-µ message board, its filled to the brim
with plain meaness. I see that this board is slowly becoming
the same way.... and frankly it makes me sad. Because this
used to be such a fun place, with people that were smart and
polite, and filled with interesting threads (the old .nu
days). What happened?

Are people in here just angry at the world here now?

Or is it because I am an american?

Whats the deal?

Anyone else feel this way?

Seriously, i have felt this way too!

this board has a whole new wack of new people and i think
they're bad. and we should be getting rid of some of
them...cause they're making this board go down and
everyone's feelings are being hurt and the webmaster gets
angry and we're all punished because some dork guy comes in
and totally throws people off saying IDM sucks and then we
all get angry and unsettled and it really makes this place
be un-fun again...cause it used to be!

i mean nothing is really funny by now on
(i mean in general peoples life it seems...)
but this mb seems cool enough for me
i just laugh away when i see three closed topics, why name a
topic someones nickname to tell him what he should do with
life.......................................................
...........................................................
his .......................on an afx messageboard??????
arent there enough chatrooms avaliable?
:)

anything has ups and downs, it's only natural. maybe it's
the old winter syndrome?!
even the old v4 board had times where it was "worse" than
now.

no worries, the whole crew and of course the true regulars
will keep this board up!

Well, I've had to lock three topics in the last half hour,
that can't be good... it's just a downtime for the board,
this happens all over the net. There's been tons of topics
exactly like this before, complaining about the ''end of the
world'' for messageboards. Nothing to worry about, of
course. But I can say this- I miss Picklefoot.

No. The main problem with this message board are the
apathetic bastards with no social awareness who think the
whole world revolves around Richard D James. He's only a
musician, he's not beyond criticism.

Ynnnfineyoublowmymindheymickey!heymickey! *ahem*

I just wondered if you were gonna send out those demos... if
not no worries I just wondered.

To add to this topic I know i've been rude a few times to a
couple of people but its just natural you'll get a bit aggro
sometimes. I like funny / interesting stoopid stuff but just
plain crap stoopid is annoying.

offline Mickey Mouse from The Moon on 2002-11-28 17:26 [#00460471]
Points: 4130 Status: Addict

I like funny and interesting stupid stuff just as much as
anyone, some closed topics are really funny, but thats not
really what I am talking about, I am talking about people
just getting mad over stupid shit.

"angry mickey mouse...yeepppAAAAA"

and i AM angry because this board was soo great and fun, IMO
in the old .nu days it was filled with people that had more
of an open mind about things...

maybe its just the time of day... I usually come on later
(in my time zone).... but I think being an american doesnt
help... its like its a new fad all all boards on the net to
vent at em...

*sigh*

I hope that the message board can repair itself and bring
out more of those funny and smart people like in the past...

well mickey, if it is true, it's not something you can fix,
but simply saying "be nicer and write more interesting
threads." rather, just act. keep up the attitude and
behavior that you would like to see and it will have all the
effect that it can have.

offline jupitah from Minneapolis (United States) on 2002-11-28 22:12 [#00460660]

my personal concern is that there are plenty of interesting
threads, but they get buried fairly quickly. that's
subhective though.

quiting smoking was one of the harder things I have done...

but hang in there dood. Carry some beef jerky in your poket
to chew on when you get the cravings. Maybe switch from one
drug to another, I went from being a cronic smoker to being
a cronic coffee drinker, its less toxic for your health, but
it was the only way I could really cope without a smoke

And REMEMBER if you have a high thresh hold for pain, only
use a couple of the pain pills for the first days after you
get your teeth yanked, and save them for later use...... its
a nice little buzz.

8^)

sorry to hear your not going to be playing your live set
:*(

BUT YOU GET TEH POON SO ITS ALL GOOD!

YOU WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to try and act nicer to people on the message
board and be superfriendler from now on and see if that rubs
off on some people. It couldnt hurt

Most of the time I try to be as polite and reasonable as I
can. If I irritate someone, please tell me!

Being not a fullblood IDM-fan I cant really join in much
serious posts about all these artists, just because I dont
know them or their work.

Example: A post about J-HOK being global goon. I was like...
What's a global goon?

(and this post is NOT intended to stirr things up or
something!)
