5000 even seems like a lot for any rephlex release, maybe
like 1000 or so. aphex\squarepusher still do not sell that
many albums anyways. aphex has sold more than squarepusher
too, squarepusher may be one of the bigger ones on warp but
still barely any people have heard of him and most havent
heard of aphex.

i think that drukqs wasnt sold in more than 10 copies here
in slovenia
i frequent music shops a lot and i only found it in two
shops-one of those because they order it because of me :)

anyway i think idm artists just arent promoted enough-not
many ppl here knows about idm at all
but electronic music in general is pretty well accepted-lots
of biggest world star dj's are coming to play here
imo warp should really do a much better job promoting their
musicians

Sorry to drag this out but i'm still a bit confused as to
how a living can be made from selling 5000 copies of a
record, appearing infrequently and doing a few odd music
related jobs.

Not to mock of course. If i could, i would!

So what ads you done j-hok, any we might know or recognise?
Any links?

is that figure of 5000 sales for one release or for all of
them combined?

pay for adverts music etc is a lot more than i receive from
braindance releases. And no, you wouldnt recognise any of
the advert music

yeah

commericals pay a fuck load

my bass teacher in highschool...

he worked for 3 months on an album playing bass.

he then worked for 3 days for a 30 second commerical for
tv... and made much much more then what he made playing bass
for 3 months in a studio, on an album.

...

If there's a bunch of people that live in one apartment like
the schematic crew (I think) I guess they could pull it off.
That would be the great life. Everyone only has to work 20
hours a week to pay the rent probably. Too bad I have no
friends and am agoraphobic.
