pixie magic.

ps...dunno if anyone mentioned it (too early to read a
tits/zeus row at this time of the morning...:)...

but JOGA is Timbalands (yes, that Timbaland...) favourite
song ever...

Can't say I balme him....it is a wonderful piece of music, I
must have about 10 diff. versions of it...

They've been giving away free BJORK cds with The Observer
(UK Sunday broadsheet) recently...Samplers for her albums
etc....

So yeah, she's kinda mainstream but I do adore the way she
keeps on the move ,like AFX and unlike most of other
mainstream "stars"... she doesn't release the same old shit
everytime....plus when it comes to collabs, she rules...

The Funkstorung remix of AIFOL is one of my fave tracks
ever....have to be v. careful listening to it on my walkman
whilst walking the streets, it makes me do half-assed robot
dances :)....

i don't fully understand the 'mainstream' bit. do you mean
that she sells a lot of records or gets airplay (in the uk?
not here), or that the music she makes is mainstream in
character? i think her debut and post albums are definitely
on the side of mainstream, but beyond that the label doesn't
really make sense.

same here, we got a college station that'll drop some bjork
on some rare occasions. i'd really like somebody who thinks
bjork is mainstream to define it, not becaues i want to
argue it, everyone to their own, but because before i came
here i had never considered that she would be considered
mainstream and thought it was weird the first time i heard
it.

I was using mainstream in the sense that even non-music fans
have heard of her...mention AFX to most people and they go
"HUH??", but everyone knows who Bjork is....

And that's pretty interesting as her music is definately
non-mainstream...

people know bjork because of her big time sensuality video
hair style or the swam dress...

Been a ton of Bjork on UK TV recently - live concerts,
documentaries etc...even Dancer in the Dark....

me too. fortunately, the complete presentation has turned up
online. it's still in the non-downloadable "incoming" folder
of the famous bjork ftp but at least that means it's
probably elsewhere too. once again, when i get more space (i
have an old hard drive i need to install) i'll get it.
there's a little clip of it you can download from bjork.com
(check the news archives).

I think these lyrics are wrong:

"Joga"

all the accidents that happen
follow the dot
confidence makes sense
only with you
you don't have to speak
i feel
emotional landscapes
they puzzle me

isn't it:

"Joga"

all the accidents that happen
following the dot
COINCIDENCE makes sense
only with you
you don't have to speak
i feel
emotional landscapes
they puzzle me

bjork.com is nice
always on the run, however, has her complete lyrics (including
collaborations and rare early music).. not to mention lyrics
for a lot of other great artists
