I'd never heard of Satie before, till I read that Richard
had a huge interest in his music, so I started downloading a
couple of his songs. In the beginning I thought that this is
just some "piano-music" but recently I've been listening to
his music, and I'd say I like it as heck now! Je te veux,
Nocturne (all the pieces), Gymnopedies, Gnossienne (all the
pieces), Idem (all the pieces). How did you came into
contact with Satie's music? The Aphex-way, or another way?
And doesn't 1ere Gnossienne remind you of Shadowgate to the
Nintendo 8-bit?

I heard about Eric Satie on here...

I don't care for it THAT much but its okay... I prefer John
Cage's style more. Or David Tudor's...David worked with
John a lot. I like the more 'different' or 'landscapish'
material more sometimes than straight out 'this is a song'.
BUT eric is still pretty at times.

Im listening to Gymno. and it sounds like a perfectly rainy
day...holding my cup of warm coffee in both hands and
watching people walk by.... wow....

Oh yeah and music like "Sonatine Bureaucratique" really
turns me off! big time. i hate that really skippy music.
darn its annoying. i like my piano peices to be either
really slow and sad or really slow and uplifting.

The PERFECT example of what i like to enjoy is John Cage's
classic piano song In A Landscape. Slow, reminicing, rainy
day, coffee, blue toned pondering music. Makes you think.

I like Satie's work. Especially the early stuff. Things like
the Gymnopediees and the Gnossienes are great I think. His
style is pretty unique, and he has a certain vibe in his
compositions that I think is great.

Oh, and I heard about him through the Aphex way, but I
couldn't really be bothered. Until I watched in someone's
cd-collection (a weird habit of me) and found a cd of Satie.
I listened to it, and liked at once.

I heard about Satie because of the Drukqs hype, and he is
damn good... Amon, you're into this piano stuff? Recommend
me some more tracks in this style, by Cage or anybody.
