Phobiazero: MB Idea

Would it be possible to have different fonts used so we
wouldn't have to use this one all the time? I think that
would be cool. Keep them all black of course...colors would
get messy. What do you think of this?

always try asking...

What do we have to personalize our posts?
bold?
italic?
underline?

personnaly speaking:I dont need much more to
style my posts

Is it the content or the layout that counts?

Maybe different "skins"/layouts could be selected by
individual users? such as on www.digital-mike.net - once
registered, you can choose the layout you want to browse the
site in... only problem I can see with that is, of course,
bandwidth

Having different themes is not good re: the community
feeling. :-/ It's true.

I said this in another topic, but it didn't really fit
there, so I'll post it in here:

doesn't posting pictures cause more bandwidth being used up?

and faster i would think, since these photos are much larger

[in dimension] than the avatars...

I totally agree with Phobia here.. and I'm not just trying
to brown-nose to the webmaster here.. I think xltronic right
now has the perfect balance of individual expression (i.e.
avatars, names, profiles, points) and community uniformity
(colors, fonts, format) etc.. this keeps it diverse without
getting sacattered and disorganized and messy.

If this board turns into something MSN messenger like,
delete my account!

This style is nice, especially after a few hours of reading
and posting uphere.

well I thought there was some kind of problem about avatars
being too big, so there's a size restriction now... but
these "attached pictures" seem a bit large, doesn't that
take up just as much bandwidth, if not more, than what an
avatar would?

u-viol: I agree with you and somehow that makes me agree
with myself - which is confusing.

I think we should have a 'Read' column on our topics, so at
least we know someone cares.

there are limitations both regarding avatars and uploaded
images. the golden rule is to optimize frequently used data
(like the avatars) - keeping them small that is...

and maybe something to tell us if the threads we re-read
have something new in them, à la planet-mu (the little
new at the right of the topics).
