Is Fruity Loops Pro worth the buy?
I'm new to FL and I have the free download and to be honest
its not that great IMO would the Pro version worth the
money?
Its just all the samples sound a bit flat to me just like
most music software out there.....

I don't use samples to often if I can help it.....apart from
percusion instruments.....
Oh and some times i'll import some nice spherics from
TechnoE-jay2.
Has anyone tried any of the E-jays?What a laugh...

well, it takes up so much space, u can do cooler shit with
software and a keyboard and midi fader/knob box for cheaper
than a full hardware studio

dont give up, just work with what you have - for a knob box
with keyboard, go for oxygen8 - its only 100 quid

Are you serious when you say 'buy' ?
who here ever buy a software ?
it's far too $$$$$$$$$ I just get them cracked.
you won't do everything with frutyloops, but well it's still
a pleasant soft to make some electro beat bouncing.

offline TonePu5her from lincoln !UK! (United Kingdom) on 2002-11-24 06:09 [#00453898]

Dude, fruityloops is the bomb.
You probably haven't heard anything I've done with it, but
generally, my music x 100 is about the kind of quality stuff
you can make on it, but better.

You just gotta know what you're doing, coz it's kinda set up
to make dance with, so you totaly gotta have your ideas
about how things work, and keep your wits about you, haha.

But I bought it and it's totally my fave thing I've ever
bought.

yeah, fruityloops is cool, you can get good stuff if you
play long enough with the samples...

But I don`t think that the pro-version will do any good =\
Stick with teh normal one....

channels.......

Couldn't you just use your own samples ?

I personnaly use Fruityloops, and Cool Edit Pro for
additionnal production.

Yes you can use your own samples, any wav, xi, ds, syn etc
files can be opened in the standard sampler channels.

also does have FX channels. vstFX plugins. 1 thru 16,
homez.

I've only managed to use all 16 once.

reason is good, and you can lots with it. Especially when
your using different routing techniques.

I have stopped buying hardware (my last gear purchases will
probubly be the EM drum machine and synth by korg) I for the
past year I have just been getting dsp processors, effects
boxes, and MIDI controlling stuff. Software is so awesome
now, FM7!!!!! that alone does it for me.

Zues, at your school do they ever have people reason? Or is
mainly Logic and Max/Msp stuff? just curious

yeah, we use reason. we dont have a class on it, but its
installed on every computor in the synth labs.

but in my midi systems class, we had to make a song on
reason, just to get used to different types of softwares.

my final project is all gonna be done on reason too. :)

soundforge is probably the best music program out there. not
for sequencing, but just plain usefulness. good stuff.

thats cool zeus, reason can do a lot of stuff

so can fruity loops, I have a friend who uses that in my
area, its pretty cool that you can use the vst's in there.
Watched him play aroud and make a chessy dance track.. looks
like it can do a lot in there too

I am sad that fruityloops probubly will never be ported to
the mac

:*(

the same price and specs as the oxygens I guess

if youre talking to me "lacking fx chans?", FL has 16, not
64.

I'm not lacking, I rarely use over 12.
