i was a pre-med student and participated in 2 autopsies. the when they made the first cut (t-cut) i got sick......after gathering my nerves from all around my feet.....i went back and was completely enthralled. what an AMAZING body we have been given.
i had such an appreciation for the workings of my body and i really knew that i had to take care of it. the first body was a suicide/ the second a heart attack. the heart from the second body was black on the side where the man had had a previous non-fatal heart attack. we got to slice up the parts for testing. the lungs were so HEAVY even drained of blood....and yes the man was a smoker. we sliced the left lung and OMG.....saw the damage of smoking for 20+ years. stopped me from even wanting to TRY it.
*smoking suxxxxxxx IMO* ehehhe
anyway enjoy the show.....it's fascinating after the intial shock!

did they show the intestines.......those are kinda gross.....and smelly......ehehehe
sometimes they still have digested food etc in them.....
was the brain a white-ish/light pink colour? it's only grey when it's COOKED (remembers a neighbor who cooked sheeps brains.....and they were GRAY)

believe me it the first cut was HARD....but after you just put it aside and just look at how wonderfully we're made.
i had vicks under my nose so i wouldn't smell the body...althought it's been bled you don't see any blood, so it's not coming out everywhere. but the lights kinda start to make the body....ummm smell a lil funny....anyway believe me if more people saw this they would take CARE OF THEIR BODIES!!!

do i sound like Hannibal-lita? tee hee
it sounds gross.....but believe me i doubt anyone of ya'll won't be interested in seeing the workings of the human body.
i mean you really get a sense of how everything you do, eat, smoke, drink...affects certain parts. i only wish i had the same appreciation i did the first few weeks after....cos then i'd prolly EAT a lot better....my schedule keeps me from eating GOOD food! =0)
i prefer cabernet saviagnon or merlot.....than chianti....tee hee

I watched the autopsy too--beforehand I thought I was gonna puke, but it wasn't that bad, really--it was a bit surreal, and the yellow stuff (was that fat?) was a bit yucky--the way he sliced up the brain so easily was amazing--it looked rather tasty actually. and when they cut his ribs off, it was just like spare ribs before they've been barbecued--I can see why cannibals can dig it

Ah, the T-cut, the best is the noise the ribs make as they are pulled apart down the middle. Lovely- makes sounds like Ice scrapping and fingernails on a blackboard sound nice.
The guy who broadcast this is being tried I heard on the radio this morning- it was the first public autopsy for 170 years.

Get this, the UK government are only making it illegal now to commit necrophilia (or bestiality for that matter). Of course Wales will be hit hard with this new legislation.

Eating brain ain't bad. I've had a traditional dish in nothern italy where you have to eat bird heads skull and all. It is kind of wierd as the bone just mushes into a pulp and the brain is all liquidy and gamey. It was pretty tastey but I did wretch half way through the first one. After the 4th I was well on my way to enjoying it.

I found the programme extremely interesting, and proof that Channel 4 hasn't lost its guts [ehum] to show risky programmes.
By the way, the programme wasn't live, the footage had to be carefully edited because there wasn't actually an awful lot they could show. I wanted to see how he sawed the skull open...
