BT disses Oakenfold....

Q: That's quite a compliment.

BT: It was a great lesson in separating what you're told
from the reality of a situation. Like, I look at this
incredible affection and respect that people have for Paul
Oakenfold, and he has not participated in a single piece of
music that he's put his name on.

Q: Whoa...

BT: And that's the truth.

Q: You're stating this as a fact?

BT: Dude, I've been there. Call Andy Grey or Steve Osborne
if you wanna know who Paul Oakenfold is. Paul Oakenfold is a
fuckin' hand puppet. He's a good businessman but he is not a
creator of music. Half the time when he's DJing, he's just
playing CDs so he can do the Jesus Christ pose. It's an
embarrassment. You have people that are considered overly
commercialized that are such incredible talents, and then
you've got some douchebag like Oakenfold taking the credit
for other people's work. I just wish people would
investigate things on their own merit.

true

but this, coming from someone who writes music for (nsync?)
doesnt hold much value to me.

oh please. i'm not a big fan of BT either but he's so right
about oakey. check the album credits for his "solo" album.
what a crock. also, his "perfecto" remixes are only "his" in
that he arranges WHO on his label remixes the song! usually
it's 1 or 2 of his closest pals.

the song he did for n'sync rocks, and i have no reason to
lie because i don't own a single BT album. the song he did
for britney rocks too.

yeah, but he didnt write the music specifically for Coke.
the only thing he did was make a profit from his music. not
make music to make a profit.

BT is allright. He is doing the damn thing, I guess. His
early releases were good, cant say I like his latest
releases though. At least he makes some of his own stuff.
But I saw him in a interview, on the mac addict cd. It
showed how he made a remix track. Kinda sad....... he uses
drum loops like mad crazy.... and doesnt even touch them up
or anything. For example... he opened up reason, made some
house beat on the ReDrum, and then found a drum loop, put it
in the Dr Rex and pressed the set to track button. Then he
has that sample cd he put out a while back, twisted textures
and nu skool breaks or some crap like that. I went to a site
that had some samples of those.... and the textures cd
sounded like someone fiddling around on a virus, and the nu
skool breaks sounding like cheese rex files touched up with
bad dsp.... and people are being retarded and buying these
(50 dollars a pop). I guess he is a good buisness man
too.....

i acctually heard 2 diff amon songs in 2 diff movie
commericals.

but this doesnt bother me... because he wrote the music for
himself.

it just happened to be enjoyed by others, and they want to
pay him to use it. he didnt write the song for the movie.

I don't like Oakenfold but I love that new "starry eyed
surprise" song he has released. I've been trying to get the
mp3 for days, as I refuse to spend money on Bunkka, or
whatever the hell it's called.

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Brian Transeau was
playing piano from the age of two and began his classical
training while only thirteen. Even while he was studying
string arrangement and orchestration, Transeau listened to
Depeche Mode and Yes. He attended Berklee School of Music in
Boston for one year but then dropped out and moved to Los
Angeles; he was soon back in Washington, D.C., where he
hooked up with longtime friend Ali Shirazinia's new Deep
Dish production team. He had already played synthesizer for
albums by Salt-N-Pepa and Tyler Collins before debuting on
Deep Dish Records with two 1993 singles, "A Moment of Truth"
and "Relativity."

Check out this quote from Oakenfold:

Selekta: Why Hunter S Thompson? Is it his infamous past
that attracted you? How did you come to work with him?

Paul Oakenfold: I've been a fan of his for a long time and I
felt that what he had to say is relevant to youth today.

Selekta: What do you think of Thompson's notoriety? What is
your opinion on Thompson's writings about recreational drug
use?

Paul Oakenfold: I haven't really read any of those so I
wouldn't really know.

hahahahaha

"i run away".. it's a b-side cos she didn't like it enough
to be on her record. it's a lot better than the a-side which
i can't remember (it was the single after "i'm a slave 4 u")

Where was that interview taken from? He is right of course.
Oakey AKA Caesar from Planet of the Apes should be shot.

I really rate BT's 'Movement in Still Life' and though I'm
commiting heresy here, there are breaks on that album that
could compete with AFX's. But he has the wrong image for IDM
fans of course so he's just a chessy trancer.

Maximum word up BT, rock that shit, homey.

It's like BT does some camp house hits, but I've also hear
him doing some real fly shit (what was that number? Hip hop
generation or sumn?).

Oakenfold is a fucking poser, for real, I saw this interview
with him and liek in every photo he's standing there posing
with sunnies on, trying to look all dope and shit.

I reckon we need more chemical brothers, they are truly the
nerd/dope shit, they always look nervous and cool and just
freaked out at the same time ahahh they are legends,
although star guitar sucks cock.
