So, why the fuck do IDM freaks think this LP is a masterpiece? Four and Girl/Boy Song are excellent, everything else is...

i too am not a big fan of this release, i realize a lot of the songs are kind of supposed to be jokes but I am not looking for this in my music, i prefer drukqs and his more serious work much more, now granted I dont always only want serious music but I tend to like the more serioud idm music.

Kids listen to 'humorous' music. Aphex Twin's earlier work is far more mature, which is why I prefer it. Drukqs is pretty good though.

RDJ album is great no doubt, but I think Drukqs overpowers it anyday. Still, that's a personal thing, is Drukqs, whereas RDJ Album is just a good 'ol solid release for everybody to hear.

the thing with the rdj album ( and CTD btw) is that they are really RDJ going commercial-pop so the main reason many people like it so much is the same reason people like me start to like it less with time instead of the older work wich gets more natural-free-noboundaries-influential-expression over time

Yes! It's excellent music for occasions like that :-) The music reminds me of the joy of... well... maybe something like my first 10 birthdays. When you're a kid birthdays seem so special. And listening to rdj-album gives me that same sort of feeling.
It also reminds me of what christmas and newyears-eve used to feel like when i was a little kid... man these songs are all so great. The word comforting (as used by xlr) is also very good for describing the feel of the album. Wow...
i get emotional just thinking about it now... i seriously don't think i'll ever grow tired of this album. I'll probably just grow to love it more and more... as i get older, and my childhood seems even further away then it seems now... the memories and feelings rdj-album can give me will become even more precious to me :-)
