I can't stand new movies! Seriously everything coming out is
absolute dross! However I am looking forward to Two Towers.

saw the man who wasn't there yesterday. Which i
thought was really good.

I had no idea what to expect, but it was a surprisingly
beautiful story, told very well. I just love that barber and
his calmness... :-) He reminded me of me, one of those
characters i won't forget for a long time!

biggest dissapointment: it wasn't black and white! I'd heard
everywhere the coen-brothers had made a black and white
film... but it just had colors in it :-/ A little bleak
perhaps, but colors nevertheless... weird!

I didnt like The Man who Wasnt There compared to their other
films. I thought it lacked the magic that Barton Fink and
The Hudsucker Proxy were overflowing with. (as well as all
their others). Amelie was great, I hadnt seen a good love
story in a while. I saw Santa Claus 2 the other day. Whew.
that was intense. I meant to go see Jan Svankmajer's Little
Otik on the big screen the other day, but wasnt up to the 3
hour drive....

the big lebowski is my favourite coen-film. You've got to
love that one... everything around the dude is falling
apart, and he's just worried about his carpet :-p
it really tied the room together

random quote generator

be warned though, it's very addictive ;-)

Amelie sucks
beig swiss this film seemed so crappy to me...i know all
those actors for long and they are all pretty stupid...the
little guy in the grocery (named Jamel Debouze) doesnt quit
his style from his debut...and its boring believe me!
anyway i cant bare love stories, and i will add french films
try to be as american as possible, thats what i felt with
this "joy story"...
and please dont say that amelie is the best of Jeunets
movies his masterpieces are delicatessen and the city of the
lost children(la cité des enfants perdus)
alien4 was stupid too (he could have done it right...poor
world...)
;)

City of Lost Children is excellent. As is The Big Lebowski,
but you just cant beat the last 10 minutes of Barton Fink.
Luke Vibert sampled john goodman's lines in a plug song as
well.

Barton fink is like a slooooowly building roar that just
explodes at the end. its beautiful.

Anyone seen "Institute Benjamenta" the quay brothers first
live action film. The most brilliant cinematography i have
seen, but unless you are entertained by subtle details it
will bore the hell out of you. Its my favorite movie, and
has an excellent soundtrack.

Have to agree with you about Man who Wasn't There. It had
its moments but it wasn't the rich tapestry of insanity I
expect from the Bros.

Hudsucker Proxy is a great movie to watch while spending a
romantic New Year's Eve with a chick. Jennifer Jason Leigh
kills me in that one. She's such a little hottie and when
she does that Kate Hepburn thing, mmmmmnummers.

JJL was also amazing in Georgia playing a failed punk
singer. There's this scene where she gets up in front of a
huge crowd of unappreciative yokels and does an acapella
version of Van Morrison that nails my heart to the wall.

No dramatized bullshit. Just a pure story and beautiful
images. See it on a big screen if you can.
