has anybody seen this UK (cant be positive but very likely BBC) cooking/travel show...
the concept is brilliant for it's sheer simplicity..goto to an ethnic takeaway shop in and around London..meet the cooks and then send them on a journey back to their homeplace to teach and learn how the same dishes that they are selling in fast food version are made back in the home country by the real people authentically..and see if they can hack it with the real deal with real ingredients etc...
very cool!

They should go to McDonalds and take one of the fry cooks back to face the inscrutable hamburger masters of New Jersey.

Do they leave them in their country of origin? I should hope so. There's too many foreigners in this country getting put up in palaces and mansions while I slog my guts out.

I grew up next door to a chinese family who weren't very westernised, nice people, we're still in contact and by coincedance, even though we've both moved house 2 times since then, we're now living very close again :)
They had a chinese restaurant & takeaway that we used to go to, but whenever I went over their house for tea the food was quite different. I imagine most people from abroad think americans eat burgers for every meal, just because that's what they sell from "american" food outlets abroad...

to call someone who works on mcdonalds a cook is an insult to all other cooks.. they dont cook food, they build food.. just like you build a car, but less complicated and from carcasses..

I know. The very fact that there is that macdonalds procedure "bible" takes away any creativity- the cook is no longer and artist, but an automaton...

People don't order a filet-o-fish expecting blackened lungfish and asparagus in a raspberry coulis. Keep your fruity creativity to yourself food geek.
