You know, I've had this cd for a year or so (bought it
around this time last year) and I'm really liking it now...
for some strange reason I played it the other day for the
first time in months and really enjoyed it... it's weird how
that works, you don't even look at a cd for ages, then all
of a sudden you listen and it blows your mind... maybe in
this case it's because of the snow here... it recently
snowed, and well this album just seems to fit with winter,
so anyways... yeah, I like it now!! :)

Good record.
I put in Gary Numan's the pleasure principle a few days ago,
and it knocked my socks off. :)

Bjork is super coool, vespertine is tops. I listen to it a
lot. I love the songs Hidden Place and Pagan Poetry (sounds
a lot like orbital at the beggining.... In Sides... to be
specific..)

It makes me feel very warm, fuzzy and hopefull

Can't believe Aurora hasn't got a mention! That chorus is
the one of the most enchanting things I've ever heard!
Everything else is okay, just a little too samey towards the
end. Love the lyrics as well, especially the first 3 tracks.

yes.. vespertine was made for snowy weather.. (she's even
said this herself)

i've listened to it driving to school in the morning two
days in a row now

you're right though, xammax.. there are a few lame tracks
towards the end.. the ones between an echo and a stain and
unison (which are both great)
but she seems to do that on all her albums

What was that instrumental called? The with all those lovely
twinkly sounds?

P.S. This is one of the 4 topics I've saved today.

ah yes this is the most beautiful album i know of. bjork's
voice can be hard to listen to from time to time but on this
record it's bliss. i especially love the last track.

frosti - the one that's just a music box. anyone that can
compose a tune like that is super talented.

she gets the twinkly sounds from music boxes
she collects them apparently.. had a bunch custom made too i
guess

if thats the twinkly sound youre talking about that is

hidden place, cocoon and an echo a stain are awesome.the
whole album is great even if debut and post are the highest
picks of bjork's career for me

music box... is that the instument also known as a theremin?

does anyone know any other albums with the same feel as
vespertine?
you know..with the subtle wintery organic prettiness..

i already have everything by mum
matmos' cut to cure
bogdan's myloveilove
e*vax's parking lot music
rotor+'s alieron
some of isan's stuff
to rococo rot's music is a hungry ghost

but i want more stuff like that

anyone heard tim hecker's 'ultramarin'?
i've heard its in that vein
havent actually heard it myself though

nooo though the theremin is also a box that makes music...
they're completely different..

when i say music box i mean the old fashioned box that you
have to crank..
they're usually used as decorations.. have little twirling
ballerinas in them sometimes
