Whats your SINGLE most cinematic music experience?
For me it would be with Biosphere's Substrata 2 (sub with man with a movie camera). i saved it till later in the evening to listen to it. i came in the computer room here and turned off the lights and closed the door. it was completely dark except for the amber light coming in through the window...from the street lamps. it was raining that night too and could hear some of it over my headphones when a song stopped. i played both cds back to back so i basically sank in Biosphere's world for 2+ hours. that was the single best music experience ive ever had with a cd...what with my surroundings / settings.

i was playing a gig at a local club, we had a guest DJ spinning with us, hes a bunch older then us and before the show was kinda getting me down cause he was talking about how its impossible to get known on the scene. well anyways, I knew i had to play. half way during the set, i just had the most amazing vision as one of our songs was taking off. i just zoomed out, and saw us playing in the room, then outside the club, then on the block, and finally to the whole city, and i was like, here i am playing this shit that means so much to me, fuck it, fuck what linz had to say about the music scene! fuck it! it was a killing show.

This one's easy. The first time I listened to a Legendary Pink Dots cd. Canta Mientras Puedas, it's a compilation of their 90-95 work. At that point in my life it was the most beautiful music I had ever heard. It really kicked down some doors for me music wise, and took my testosterone level down several notches, low enough that I could begin to appreciate music like that. After I listened to it once I laid down and listened to it again so I could give it my undivided attention.

When I first heard Windowlicker. It was when that show they put on VH1 a couple of years ago with all those minor celebrities picking the best video. Windowlicker was one of them, and I am so glad I saw it! Opened my eyes to all the good stuff.

There must be another. Oh yeah, when I was listening to Endtroducing once with my girlfriend, and she started crying because of how beautiful it was *sigh*. The track was What Does Your Soul Look Like Part 1.

P.S. I know it isn't cinematic, but I can't think of anything cinematic so I just put some quality music moments.

Vletmrx21 on a particularly depressing day, yikes... my heart rate went up to horrifying levels.

Gilmour's guitar solo in ''Time'' from Dark Side of the Moon always makes me insane.

hmm probably the time i was driving with a bunch of friends in the car..i put on a silver mt. zion's '13 angels standing guard 'round the side of your bed' ..

..and my friends never really shut up when they're all together ..and they were all talking for the first few minutes of the ride..but as the song picked up.. they all got real quiet.. the song was long enough to last almost the whole way home..and none of them said a word the whole time..except for at one point, one of my friends noted that the beacon light of the airport we were driving by was synced up with the music

hell, if you've ever heard that song..it makes any situation into a cinematic experience..
