Hey, so don't release it until it's good. Learn from my
mistakes.

In fact, it's quite cool..... Sounds much like the dutch
death-metal "Mangled"....

You ever heard of Mangled? The vocals almost sound the same
as yours.... I think they are signed to Candlelight records
(Opeth, Emperor, ....)

I know what you mean. But it is THAT bad. Bands who put out
stuff where you can hear mistakes in playing and top it up
with bad production are not the bands I want to listen to.
Sloppiness is sometimes charming, but not in this case, 'm
afraid.

Plus I hate that particular Offspring song... Come to think
of it, I hate Offspring in general... That guy's singing
seriously gets on me tits...

I think I haven't listened to Mangled, but judging by the
name they are heavily into Cannibal Corpse (Mangled being
one of the songs off the first CC album) and my vocals were
heavily influenced by Chris Barnes at that time...

By the way... what is a metal guy like you doing on this IDM
board? Or are you into IDM nowadays?

I like the flute. I agree with you on The Offspring. Plus
they are shit live. His voice is even whinier.

I only mentioned The Offspring because their song is about
having no self esteem...

Polynomal-C: I was into electronic music all along. I have
never stopped listening to metal, though. I listen to too
many different genres to mention. Plus, I come here mostly
for the people, less for the music, hehehe

Gigi: You actually downloaded it at your office? I thought
you told me you can't listen to it at work. Hmm, being a
Concultant makes you chockfull of surprises, eh...

So, you like the flute. Damn, I knew people would hear the
flute and go apeshit over it, even with rest of the music
sucking shit...

We know, we just couldn't resist bashing Offspring. They
suck. They were mildly interesting before they hit MTV but
their late stuff is shit...

I meant I like the Flute in general. I can't download it at
work your right. Too many restrictions. I like to be
surprising though.

Ah, OK then. Well, flute has a nice sound, this is why we
used it. I think most people actually go apeshit over the
idea of fragile tones of flute being blown along some heavy
guitars/ drums/ vocals, not about the actual music... Just
what I counted on...

Bad Heavy Metal with flutes? I'm THERE! I was in a bad Sonic
Youth type grunge band and a bad Exploited type punk band in
1994... Anyway i'm gonna check out the bad heavy metal now.

You sound like a right person to appreciate our lame
efforts... My brother will probably be surprised how many
people download our stuff. Though he told me that we've had
like 20 downloads in the first 24 hours only or something.
That really surprises me... Some people clearly have too
much fucking time on their hands.

I like the parallel. Got to be worth a listen.

Umm, I don't think so. But I can't stop you, much as I try.

God you SUCK!!!

Only joking! I actually thought that was really good, good
vocal delivery, good chugging guitars... and i dug the flute
as well.

That flute is a sure winner. I have to tell that girl how
many people liked her performance... Did my vocals make you
laugh hard? If not, you weren't listening properly...

Yo .. meho

finally had a listen to them tunes ... well, very
impressive. not entirely my cup of tea, but that's some
impressive stuff. A lot slower than I thought, which is good
.. :)

can't remember the names of the songs, but the 3rd one i
think - with the tribal chanting at the start .. lovely
stuff.

that voice man, incredible.

Hahahaha. Yeah, my voice sounds really animal-like on these
recordings... Hmmm, I thought at least SOMEONE will comment
on my music being cheesy as fuck, but I guess you guys are
just too nice... That track is called "The Feeder" and the
chanting is not exactly tribal. That's a grape-picking song
entitled "Mother sends her daughter grape-picking" and is
sang by village women in times of grape-picking...

well .. i've never lived in a tribe: guess they don't chant
like that then huh? hehe...

soft cheese i'd say, maybe double cream brie or something ..
tastes quite nice :)

haha, I have never lived in a tribe either. Hey, I have
checked, it is your turn to write an email, after all...

Chanting or no chanting, Drift is a laughable proposition.
Listen to bands that influenced Drift instead: Godflesh, old
Cathedral, old Fear Factory etc....

Yeah but I know how much work you have to put in to make a
band work... and you've obviously taken time over those
tracks. No-one expects perfection from a demo.
And I prefer "raaaaoooooohhh" to most of the dull shit on
the radio anyway!

Thanks, diablo, thanks, man. Well, it wasn't that much
effort and time actually, this is why it sounds so shitty
and sloppy. Tjis is the main reason I am bitching about it
without end: we were actually stupid enough to make this and
think "Wow, this is actually cool" instead of rehearsing our
arses off and making a good recording...

You should hear some of the stuff we used to do... We did
one cover of "The End Complete" by Obituary which is pretty
funny.

Ahhh, that song is awesome. That was their last truly great
album. Did you have a good singer and a good drummer, cause
these two features I find the most important about Obituary.
