I'd forgotten all about these guys, a few (well, about 7 or so) years ago I had Llamatron, a really good robotron game by them. Most famous for gridrunner on the C64, they still make old style games for the PC. I think one of the best is Gridrunner++.
Their main guy (Jeff Mintern AKA Yak) is doing the visuals for the Warp 2002 winter rave. He is generally credited as the pioneer of "visualisation" packages, you know, the precursor of Geiss, Milkdrop, etc.

Hey I remember Yak! Never spoke to him but he was involved with Attack of the mutant goats or something? with the killer telephones. I have that on my Amiga.

That's right- attack of the mutant camels :) He has a "thing" about furry animals. Lives in wales with some llamas & a sheep apparantly... I wish he'd release a compilation of games for the PSX/GBA...

Yeah, they're dead sound, the games cost £5. I'd never pirate one of them :)
The games are such a headscrew, like lo-fi "Rez" type graphics. I want them to make an old style upright arcade amchine! :)

I think I saw Rez on a dreamcast? I'm not much of a gamer. But if it's that game that makes trance as you play then stuff like that I love.
I'll have to checkout more of this Llamasoft stuff but the Gridrunner demo wont work on this PC.

You should try to get it working, it's dead fun :) Although it seems very simplistic, there's quite a deal of depth to it. Gridrunner++ Strategy Guide
Rez was released on DC first there was a PS2 port but the graphics were not as good as the DC version. I really like it, it "makes" music in time to the rhythm you determine by firing/locking on when you play. Probably my favourite "modern" game of all time.

Ah, you're running NT5- that's probably why gridrunner won't work :(
