I just realised how the trend of music is streamlining
towards the suddel boring sound of the amighty piano,..
think about it, NIN's still cd, pretty much all piano's,..
Drukq's,, pretty much all piano's,.. Radioheads amnesian is
pretty piano heavy, next thing tool will be doing piano
shit, yuck,.. then underworld,..

2002 wil be remembered as the piano solo year

You know what i would hate? more john cage wanna
bes....thats what i hate. id say leave that sound to the
ultimate avant garde professional professionals. the
prepared piano is too good to keep rolling songs off of.

piano might be getting a bit oldish in sound yeah...but i
think for some artists its a big change. i mean who wants
guitar all the time. i sure dont. for radiohead its great!
very welcome. for aphex twin...its wicked sweet!

i really really think there ought to be an exploration into
foriegn instruments...scandivaian lands...see what they use.
studies in traditional chinese / japanese sounds and
percussion tequniques. what about going to the north pole?
greenland? northern canada? or even really deep in europe.
there's some facinating instruments out there.

Piano gets old just as fast as guitar does, I agree.
Although I have no more tolerance whatsoever for acoustic
guitar, I shun it! get away!! more electronic! no real
instruments! :) when I hear a song nowadays that starts
with an acoutic guitar strum.. I automatically write it
off.. it's terrible!

I've started using the most finely tuned cheapest instrument
of all recently, the human mouth.

amon: so you dont like the drukqs piano pieces?

i would hardly say that aphex is a proffessional in avante
garde piano music.

in fact, i wouldnt say it at all.

I go: *deep breath "psh bff bff psh booooooom BOOOOM *gurgle
gurlge l fl e lgla egl g l;a gee
eeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEmmM M m m m eooo
oooooooooo OOO *pop" and stuff like that. I've only just
started recording my sessions, I'll have to perfect the
technique. Usually I click my canine teeth for percussion,
but this does not transfer well to a microphone because the
sound of clicking teeth only sounds good with the accoustics
within my own head or something.

As for aphex twins melody on "to cure a weakling child", I'd
say he's damn good sometimes.
