Well, I know how to edit event a VST effect in fruityloops, but I don't know if that's what you even mean, since I know next to nothing about MIDI devices

its easy in fruity.
just right click on the knob you want to control, it'll bring up a small dialogue box. turn a knob on your controller, and the dialogue box will dissapear.
the knob you turned on your controller is now attached to the knob you right clicked on.
this doesnt work on some vsti's, for these, you'll have to get the cc spec's and manually program them into the dialogue box. you can get heaps of vsti's specs at www.kvr-vst.com.
also, you gotta make sure youve got midi learn turned on in the midi setup section of fruity. its on by default so you shouldnt have a prob.
