Well well, looks like it's finally really going to happen!
The audioslave-album is supposedly gonna be released on
november 19th.

see the (weird) cover here

Personally i don't really think it looks good, but hey...
that's just my opinion :-p It's just that both soundgardens
and ratm's artwork used to be pretty cool... this feels like
an odd choice.

And what will it sound like?

"Musically, Audioslave is pretty much what you might expect
it to be. Rage members Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and
drummer Brad Wilk latch into one surging rock groove after
another, and Morello's skewed, skittering solos continue to
push the boundaries of six-string exploration. But instead
of promoting a hip-hop-based agenda, Audioslave blend Rage's
rock characteristics with the atmospheric, surreal rhythms
of latter-day Soundgarden, glazing it all with Cornell's
powerfully emotive vibrato-laden voice, which will be
instantly familiar to anyone who's played air guitar to
Superunknown."

sounds exciting enough to me!

i have the demo tracks on mp3. it's okay stuff, i guess. too
many ballad-y/poppy tracks near the end, though.

people criticize tom morello's guitar playing, but i think
it's good enough. cornell's voice made it remind me more of
soundgarden than of ratm

the demos are really old and were never meant to be
released. they're not supposed to sound anything like the
album.
