deaf euphoria from atlanta on 2001-08-26 04:36 [#00025727]

yea rock on quoth
have you done the midi mod on your casio sk-1?

Quoth from Lincoln on 2001-08-26 04:50 [#00025728]

on the casio, there's only just this condenser mic built
in... it's pretty sweet, coz once done with sampling (5 secs
worth) the key note changes the pitch and speed. no midi
involved i do not believe. the SK-5 has no midi as well,
only a bank of samples. not very well built either, but a
unique sound

deaf euphoria from atlanta on 2001-08-26 05:01 [#00025731]

yea i like to record then hit the mic and then loop it
it sounds a lot like bucephalus bouncing ball
cool stuff
theres info on how to do a mod for the sk-1 that makes it
have midi out (midi in too i think). im still pondering on
weather to do it or not

Quoth from Lincoln on 2001-08-26 05:03 [#00025732]

cool... i'll check it out... have you ever seen the SK-5?
nice upgrade from the sk-1 is that it has banks and such

deaf euphoria from atlanta on 2001-08-26 05:17 [#00025735]

ooh no.. ill take a look for it.
i got the sk-1 from a friend (well i borrowed it and have
yet to give it back. but he doesnt even make music and one
give/sell me his big analogue korg)

picture he supplied and you can run it into the computer for
recording {sequencing}

Gl;itch from New Zealand on 2001-08-26 09:41 [#00025796]

shit, some of you are using the latest expensive gear, Im
not even going to bother with it, Id like to hear what
people are making with some of this new gear, I really dont
like new gadjets, I find them boring.

good to see a few people with the Casio Sk series samplers,
they are so cool, Ive only got the Sk-1 but even that makes
some great noise.

djfony -mike b- from helemano, hawaii -djfony.8m.com- on 2001-08-26 09:43 [#00025797]

My Music using all that shit above

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-08-26 09:48 [#00025800]

i just use fruity loops, pro tools, and my guitars, bass,
amp, pedals and 4 track. i don't have a huge interest in
more. i don't think there's really a need for too much. more
than what i have yeah, but i don't really try to techno
seriously to get somewhere, i do it for fun. playing in a
band is more what i take seriously.

od from perth on 2001-08-26 14:40 [#00025911]

Fruityloops.

Aron Z rocks

Chilled on 2001-08-26 18:48 [#00025934]

acid samples...hehe

f.l.e.a from NZ on 2001-08-26 21:48 [#00025942]

jeeez, Casio Sk-1 was the first keyboard I ever got..my mum
wanted me to learn to play um traditional music and I got
her to buy it for me because it had the Barking Dog sample
(gimme a break I wuz only 10 :) ) so the theory and scales
and chords and stuff went out the window (I had to teach my
self some of that about a decade later) and it started my
lifelong obsession with chasing, cats and birds and such and
getting them purr and squack respectively in the mike...I
was shattered when my keyboard broke and thus graduated to a
CZ-1

Aron? from Canada on 2001-08-27 00:12 [#00025957]

Aron Z doesn't rock.

Orange Dust rocks!

od from perth on 2001-08-27 03:50 [#00026013]

hehe cheers
the drums are all WAVs
mostly... err EQ'd and sometrimes put through an MDA combo
VST plugin (for the distortion)
thats it.
oh and almost everythgin has reverb and flange on it.
i reckon i can claim to be on of the more flanges people
about nowadays (as most ppl reckon its shit and cheesy)
