He is much more a performer / event maker than really a composer. Sure the sound is cheesy but when you realize that it's coming straight from his laser harp in combination an amazing firework/light show... He has one or two good pop tunes (oxygene, rendez-vous...). The only electronic music vinyl I have is the concert in china ; the artwork is brillant.

his 47 minute ambient track "Waiting for Cousteau" is one of the best ambient pieces of music i heard, and some music on his latest album is great, my personal favourite is a track called "Miss Moon"....
lots of his other music is great too, the only cheesy track on Equinoxe is part 5, the rest is fuckin brilliant, actually even part 5 is kick ass):

well alright, it was drama. Lets just say i used to really enjoy it and it scared the crap out of me, especially since that guy died onboard challenger during its launch, he was going to play one of the tracks in space but never got to.
But nowadays i think its rather cheesy.

well he was one of many pioneers, but he definetley can be credited with making an audience for electronic music, before Oxygene no one listened to synths music, not many anyway....

Yep, i think he's one of the pioneer's of electronic music. Brian Eno made some ambient stuff also back in the 70's and early 80's...Music for Airport's was one i think.

"My Life in the Bush of Ghosts"
fukin genius, you cant go far wrong with Eno. Music for Airports/Films Apollo Here come the Warm jets God save the queen - Eno and Cale Another Green World
you cant compare him to JMJ, two totally different artists. Eno made Music for Airports and Music for Films with generative software, so he didnt even make it himself, the software generated it.
