I just saw on the tv program Ripley's Believe it or Not
about this organ that was set up in a cave some 400 feet
below the earth's surface.

a man went down there sometime before and noticed the
stalagtites made sounds when he tapped them (think the sound
of a deep bell). In order so they were perfect sounding he
shaved them until they were correct. After that he set up
rubber knobs that would hit the rocks as he pressed a key on
his organ...and this thing is like 5 or 6 keyboards high.
nice looking. anyway...he wired this whole thing up to all
the rubber knobs around the whole cave...cause not all the
right stalagtites were together.

so like imagine being in a cave and hearing these huge bell
sounds around you as someone is playing on a keyboard.

there is one of these caves in virginia

ive been there several times as a kid

and yep, they had the organ thingy.

good memories of my childhood...
