casio keyboard on

Hey everyone, I'm new here, so I'll try not to piss anyone
off!
heh

On "Taking Control", I swear that the blippy drums and
percussion are from an old casio keyboard that was out in
the mid to late 80's, I had one when I was about 6 and I
SWEAR it's the same one.

Can anyone confirm it for me, and if so, could you tell me
which keyboard it is? (model number, etc)

Thanks everyone

Oscillik

Welcome mate. Your probably right and there is bound to be
someone here who will know and then be able to give you and
exact history of the keyboard. Lot of knowledgeable people
here. Me not being one of them.

thanks :)

yeah, it's just i loved that keyboard, it had a little voice
record thingy on it too, you could record about 12 secs on
it, and playback.

that and the blippy drums are the only things i can remember
about it!

anyways, i'll try to reply to stuff ASAP, but bcoz i only
get access at work / mates house, it might be limited!

giginger

lol :)

thanks everyone for all the welcomes :)

didn't realise it'd be this friendly, i guess i'm too used

stuff!

1986-1990, it was about £40 or £50

but don't quote me!!

i was like 6 or something

Good bunch of people here. Scan through some of the other
threads and you'll get a really good idea of the type of
people.

Ah yes, those sounds were part of the drum kit on the Casio
PT-82 keyboard.

Not saying that RDJ actually used one on the recording..
These days, sample packs are available with sounds from this
and 1000s of other models.

ps- welcome aboard! *hands oscillik a small peice of paper
with the words 'get out while you still can!' scribbled
haphazardly*

...and yes, it has a rudementary sampler on it! I've got one
sitting right here as a matter of fact.

Squarepusher as used one too. (he shows it off in the movie
Modulations)

bloody expensive though right?

pomme de terre

i just done a search on yahoo for it, and pulled up some
pics

it's not the one that i had.
the one i had was black, and the micrphone part had painted
silver lines accross it, you know, like they have those
lines accross the speaker?
(am i talking complete bollox here? lol)

i guess it must be a standard percussion sound for the
casio's around that time?

*grabs the nearest metal support and repeatedly smacks
forehead*

look nice.

The Pulse Rifle would be sweet. Probably not that far off
the Thermographic goggles. Probably in a Test stage
somewhere in the heart of Germany.

yeah, you can get a BB Pulse rifle from
www.monstersinmotion.com

and www.gemreproductions.com do non-working, but full
weight/size replicas

DAMN good they are too!

but pricey! the BB gun is $3000!
no IDEA how much the replica one is from GEM

yeah, song made me smile a lot...

all that cheapo drummachines sounds /keyboards
sounds....think it was mixture of casios, yamahas & the like
rather than just one model....

the guy pulled it off tho....with some DSP trickery at the
end, of course...

great soong...one of the best on there I reckon...
