I'm looking for some suggestions on a good FPS
(First-Person Shooter; e.g. Quake, Doom) type game to check
out. I've tried most of the popular ones, as mentioned, but
they got boring. I've even tried several war games,
including one based on WWII, and another based on Vietnam.
Anyone know another game like this to try?

If you're worried about getting bored then definately DON'T
check out Soldier of Fortune or Serious Sam. Castle
Wolfestein was pretty generic too.. You may want to take a
look into Jedi Knight II.

I've played the first Serious Sam, thought it was good, but
jesus christ there's just an endless storm of enemies
throughout the entire game. The only way to even pass a
level is to cheat. I couldn't get SS2 to work on my
computer, so I've never played that. A good game to check
out though would be "Red Faction". It's a Doom style game,
with better graphics.

I seem to recall that 'Rise of the Triad' had some sort of
wartime theme .. you were blowing away Nazi's anyway.. it
was corny but cool. Had a neat map editor. It's dated but
who cares.

Theres this game made by white supremicist, but it looks
funny as hell. It's called "ethnic cleansing." This looks
to damn funny to be serious...

Man, I played Quake 1 thru my schools network alllll day...

Rise of the Triad was OK, it just didnt weigh up to the big
boys like Doom, etc at the time.

*Princo loads Doom and types
"IDDQD + IDKFA" while in game*

There are just some things that you just NEVER forget! :D
I reckon I'd remember the cheats for these old games when
I'm 80 years old! :)
