from my expirence you always get a bit of a twisted perception of people over the internet. when you meet them they are another person, not the one you imagend yourself talking to over the net. its a wierd experience, like meeting a stranger who knows all this stuff about you. like he/she has been stalking you or something.. its well interesting. |

hummm......this thread is getting INteresting.....ehehheh well.....this is my .02 cents....on-line is just like in-person with a few little differences. the MAIN one IMO is that you get to know the person from the INSIDE out. this is good in many ways because the inside person is whats more important in the long run. that is NOT to say it's not great when they look good (to you) and you're attracted to them. just go with the flow, something attracted you to this person, and so i say give it a go and enjoy yourself. if things 'click' in person consider yourself lucky to have found this person. doesn't happen all that often, esp IN person. have a fun time and let us know how it goes....*do NOT get drunk tho.....or ELSE* ehehhe =0) |

One thing I'd warn against. Since you're meeting someone on-line, it's very easy to get involved in some long-distance relationships - sometimes extremely long-distance. Stay away from those and stick to local folks. Not to say long-distance relationships never work, but they can be a killer for your emotional well-being. |

My friend was talking to this girl online for about a year or two. He was all excited about going to New York to see her. And they were calling eachother and talking, and as it turns out, they got in this big argument right before he was suppost to leave to go see her. It makes me laugh everytime I think about it. i guess it's pretty common to meet people on-line in chat rooms or from mb's. i've met several people in person from the site at concerts. the first time i met one was on haloween last year becuase i needed a ride home from the show. the next time was just a one night stand who i still talk to on the phone and try and hook it up again cuz she is hot and rich! and another person i made good friends with and still hang out with to this very same day as we speak. |
