im looking into making my own 8 or 12 channel mixer and a
whole load of crazy effects for it. does anyone have any
experience with such a project? i am designing and building
this myself, from various circuits i have seen in
books/net/etc. ive done a fair amount of electronics and
dont wanna spend a couple of grand so im gunna build one.
dave
p.s. check this link
http://www.epanorama.net/links/audiocircuits.html if you
want some circuits :)

ive found its around 90% cheaper to build from scratch than
buy 2nd hand. also if you buy second hand, some stuff is
really trashed.read a few books, look on www and you should
be able to build a few simple things, and just build on the
knowledge/experience.thats what i do. ive only done gcse
electronics, but im learning new things all the time and
getting better at electronics....a few weeks ago i was given
an old apple mac, but it didnt have a vga connector and no
screen.a converter cost £30 minimum, so i made my own in an
hour for about £4.50. now i have a mac to play about
on!just an example of how you can do it yourself.plus the
pleasure you get when YOU made something is great!

I know what you meen, but still I would never do it cause I
prefer wasting my spare time on the actuall music making
instead of building.
