They fucking rule, i just got really into the min the last
2 months and have bought all their stuff.

I really find it annoying when people instantly say 'oh that
stuff is shit cause its depressing' it doesnt depress me in
the slightest way (the only one that does is Kinfes Out, but
thats only because i was listening to it at a wierd time)

Infact quite alot of their stuff is catchy and some of it
can even be labeled quite funky and rythmical

Anyone else like them?

thought Kid A was totally catchy and stuff first when I
heard it... the title track should've been a number 1 hit!!
:)

pablo honey is to qoute recylce here, "whinney european
shitty rock" that should be a new category, it could include
travis, coldplay and whatnot. but ok computer is not
whinney or shit rock either. it is european mind you but
something completely opposite of shit rock.

I like The Bends through Amnesiac. Pablo Honey is a bit too
generic for me.

I like all the albums, From The Bends to Amnesiac (my first
Radiohead purchase, and it put me in good sted to like
albums like OKC and The Bends with synths and guitar FX and
just acoustic guitar)

I havent listened to Pablo Honey, but i must say 'Creep' is
a brilliant song

Anyone got their 'Meeting people is Easy' video/DVD? Its
fucking brilliant

I must say, All in all these are the ways i list the
albums:

1st OK Computer
2nd Amnesiac
Joint 3rd The Bends and Kid A (Kid A maybe a bit higher just
because of Iioteque)
4th Pablo Honey (only cause i havent listened to it much)

what 2 disc live album?

i'm interested to hear the new tracks they did in L.A....
they had intended to do the whole album there in 2 weeks but
now they say they only got 1/4 of it done. i guess that puts
them behind schedule, but i don't mind. i hope they don't
rush the songs. some of the new material is a little weak
compared to songs on past albums, or even b-sides. "there,
there" could be huge and there are 2 or 3 other hits but the
rest i think need work. i have to admit, however, that i am
solely judging the songs by the live mp3's i've heard, so of
course it's not a very fair assessment.

offline zaphod from the metaverse on 2002-10-01 15:52 [#00389174]

yeah, what two disc live album? must be a bootleg. speaking
of which, theres a great soundboard quality recording (mixed
by Nigel Godrich himself!) of their Berlin show for the Kid
A tour.
On the topic of MPIE, i think its a great film, stands alone
even if you don't like radiohead that much. Has a lot of
Kubrik in it, especially in the use of audio visual
techniques.

I've been into radiohead since around the time OK Computer
came out, but oddly enough i only recently started listening
to The Bends. I can't believe i've avoided it for so long,
it's very good. Street Spirit is such a great song.

i love the bends. some great tracks.

i really like all their stuff. though probably pablo honey
the least.

amnesiac has some amazing tracks.
my album order would be:

1.ok computer
2.the bends
3.amnesiac
4.kid a
5.pablo honey

i have a few live concert bootlegs on video, and a couple
more on CD. they fucking rock!

radiohead is so good. it's one of those bands everyone likes
despite their usual taste in music. like air in that way.
i've got them all and none of their records suck. not even
pablo honey. the songs that touch me the most are street
spirit and no surprises. i haven't heard the live thingy;
is it good?

(thank good the mb is back up whee)

my rating at the moment:

1. ok computer
1.1. the bends
1.2. amnesiac
1.3. kid a
1.4. I might be wrong

2. my iron lung
3. Pablo Honey

these are the ones I have.
Imo ok computer, the bends, amnesiac, kid a and I might be
wrong are all master-pieces.
My iron lung EP is quite nice. Tho the track my iron lung is
one of my least favorite tracks of the bends.
And Pablo Honey.... well, Creep is a wonderfull track,
that's all...

Radiohead is mind numbingly awesome, but I find Thom's voice
getting really annoying to me lately, dunno why... he's
great and emotional and everything, but sometimes I find
myself wanting someone more understated singing it, more
''normal'' and less obviously unique. Or something. I don't
know what I'm trying to say here. I'm just not so fond of
his voice anymore.

Either way, Thom and his band are incredible, I think
they'll go down in history as the second best band ever in
my mind.

Okay so I've had OKC for a week and now I must say that it
is better than Kid A. Yes Kid A more caters to the side of
me that loves electronic, but OK Computer is just 12 tracks
of sheer brilliance. Kid A is not far behind though, I
suppose it just needs more in it if you know what I mean, to
be more deeper. I think if they mix the two with the new
album then we'll have the best Radiohead yet.

1. OK Computer
2. Kid A
..Just incase you didn't get a word of that.

yeah i dig everything from the iron lung ep forward... id
rate them like so:

1. (tie) kid a/ok computer
2. amnesiac (plus the b-sides)
3. the bends
4. my iron lung ep (WEIRD transitional period for the band)
5. airbag ep (just not quite as varied as iron lung)

and in my opinion, from there down (with the exception of
select tracks) the rest isn't worth botherig with unless
you're in the money. i disclude the live album because i
really think you must go see them live. 40 bucks be damned,
this is the ONLY band i'd pay that to see.
