Hi all,
bit of an about face for me whilst the sites been down, I've
started to like vinyl...

I'm hoping to get some straight arm direct drive decks and a
3 channel mixer with record & master out. Any advice much
appreciated.

PS the fact that I finally caved and got astrobotnia 1-3 on
vinyl may have something to do with this :)

Ahhh, your doomed now!!

I'm always hunting down vinyl... had to sell my car to feed
vinyl my addiction.

(almost)

I wish I had the money to change formats from cd to vinyl.
I'm still trying to repurchase all of the stuff I have on
cassette.

Thankfully I've got a fair bit of vinyl from over the years
(Including WAP7R- Tricky Disco remixes!) it's just I need
something to play them on since I broke my old belt driven
turntable by scratching "intergalactic" by the beastie boys
too excess :)

I've decided that as I just MP3 CDs and then leave all my
CDs at my parents house I may as well buy on vinyl and DL
MP3s off the net. I'll still buy BoC & Aphex on CD though,
just for completions sake :)

I didn't know who'd done it, I always assumed it was tricky
disco-tricky disco. WAP7 (single) is the code on warpmart if
you want to check it out (not for sale anymore though!) I
remember seeing it played on the chart show when I was about
8. Ah, the days when Warp were in the charts....

Get Technics 1210s! 2nd hand they are about £400 / £500 a
pair.

I have three vinyl now...Girl/Boy ep, Xylem Tube, and Drukqs
album. I will soon be getting a Technics 1200 M3D for
scratching...it will be nice...damn nice.

Am I the only one who likes the precision of the cd format?
Not to mention the longevity?

Am I just missing out on the collectability aspect?

Records are neat but I would prefer to own something on cd.

I only like records when it's classic rock, stuff from the
''LP'' age. A vinyl Drukqs seems a bit pointless to me, but
a vinyl White Album... NOW you're talking!

Technics 1200's you cant go wrong!! definitely a standard.
Vestax have some good tables, havent tried them but they
would be the next choice down the line. then the question
mark tables newmark, stanton, gemini probably would work as
well as technics or vestax. For mixers vestax & heath &
allen are good choices.
a cool website for vinyl connoiseurs is www.vpiidustries.com
check the TNTmk5
i want that turntable, its so amazing.

correction: newmark, stanton, gemini probably WOULD NOT work
as well as technics or vestax.

I want those new Vestax that the Scratch Pervets use, bit
out of my price range though :)
