Yes, I've heard of it, but nothing more. What is it? It is
for sale in a shop located where the Aphex-cd:s are, but it
isn't Aphex's stuff. Or? Anyone.

Sorry,I was surfing somewhere else,but i'm back.

Basically,it's some guy (James Kirby?)who remixes/f*cks with
artists stuff.

I'll try and get a link.

"Basically,it's some guy (James Kirby?)who remixes/f*cks

you dont do vvm any justice with that. Some of his/their
stuff is fucking wicked - check sick love and hate you and
all of the 6,000,000 weird 7"s theyve had out in the last
few years. Its noise people its not SUPPOSED to sound good.

Ehm, noise can sound as good as anything else. If you create
melodies out of noise, I'd sure as heck would've listened to
it. :)

if noise==all frequencies at once, how can you make melodies
out of it?

the kylie remix is quite good, and the gareth gates /
unchained melody made me piss myself laughing, but the aphex
stuff was weak

Who says that Noise has to be all frequencies at once?

hmm so does anyone think it's actually helping
aphex twin in any way or just associating his
work with shitty remixes?

It's a just a piss-take about Richard having so much
money....

V/VM can be pretty funny, situationist pranksters but these
couple of releases just didn't work for me.....didn't even
make me laugh really...

the only funny thing on it is that they're on 8cm discs. i
have both and it's horrible, the artwork on the little
covers are weird...

I thought they were interesting. Not as bad as you people
are making them sound at all I've heard much worse popular
electronic stuff including pansonic. I like pansonic too
though but they are quite a bit more annoying than hte v/vm
stuff on help aphex twin.

the line between noise and melodical notes is kinda blurred
i think
sound can be whole chords played together, each note detuned
and with strange overtones, but it can still be in tune,
whereas noise is not necessarily ALL freqs played at once,
just more than a few and theyre not in any sort of tune.

well that's all i know

depends on what noise you're talking about. actual white
noise or pink noise is in fact all frequencies at once. or
so I'm told. I have a program that can generate white
noise/pink noise/brown noise, nothing that interesting about
them other than you can use it to make a neet snare drum.
but generally when people refer to noise in music they are
just talking about scratchy crunchy staticy fuzzy what not
sounds. which can be musical and even made into melodies.
