R.I.P.
It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the untimely
death of James "Drexciya" Stinson. We are devastated about
this loss, our warmest condolensces go out to his family and
friends.

No, Detroit techno. I think they are a group, not just one
guy. I think they are part of the Underground Resistance
'scene'.

is that true?....

Drexciya are detroit techno but with a hard electro
edge...hence the recent interest in em (they've been around
releasing stuff for yrs & yrs...)....

Was reading an interview with James this morning...in the
current Grooves...FUCK!! that's bad news if it's true...

A sad day if it is true. One of my favorite artists.
As secretive as he/they are the quality was always there.

Is there a link to follow?

I had this AMAZING track by them on a React compilation
called Detroit People or something. But the tape got stolen

knew what it was.

"Although they released only five EPs in their first ten
years recording together, controversial Detroit techno DUO
Drexciya became one of the most celebrated and influential
names in American experimental techno"

"Sea Snake"('93?) was a particularly good Dexciya track.
