you should've consulted the nadsat dictionary, it's not hard
to learn the vocab.

don't use the nadsat dictionary. its much nicer to learn it
while reading, from context.

thats how I read it.

love how in the film the cinematography look wonderful; such
a clear picture..

sometimes it's still vague after you've come across the word
10 times. also it's distracting to the story to not know
what you're reading.

the whole movie is about moral choices and choice you got to
make these choices. know what i mean?

the movie is amazing, it's at the top of my list. i didnt
get everuthing on the first listen though, there are too
many things/messages in there for you to understand all in
the first time (well, at least for me).

That is my favorite movie. Best film Kubrick made in my
opinion. The soundtrack is awesome to. The 10 track
version is the better one. Next week I'm buying the Stanley
Kubrick Box Set, so I'll get to see it in an all new way...

I only saw the edited version in my high school psychology
class, so I know a lot was cut out. To be honest, i'm a bit
afraid to watch the director's cut. I've heard about all
these bizarre and fucked up scenes.

I recognize it's a very important and brilliant piece of
film though.

" no time for the ol' in-out love, just come to read the
meter!"

hey hey hey... burgess really is crap... I did my english
final on him... I had to trudge my way through about 1000
pages of his boring la-di-da life.

and maybe Jesus of Nazareth of an alright book

It's set in a private boarding school - McDowell is a rebel
with a small group of followers.
It follows the school year..blah blah blah

Him and his gang are caned (this scene is the scene that has
McDowell as "Alex")

Him and his followers, and a girl he got with, and a younger
schoolkid, take to the roof, with grenades and machine guns,
and gun down a visiting Bishop, school masters, and
students

- THE END -

directed by Lindsay Anderson

there is a sequel, which I haven't seen, called MAN ABOUT
TOWN (also with M McDowall)

Btw Burgess didn't write only one good book. His "1985" for
instance is quite excellent.

"love how in the film the cinematography look wonderful;

Fahrenheit 451 has a similair cinematographic style, it's a
decent film too. Bit different to the book at the end
though.

When I first saw it back in the early 80's I thought it was
a pile of shite (I was about 14) but when I watched it again
2 years ago, then thought about it, I realised it was one of
the most intuitive and disturbing looks into the human
animal and the results of the choices we make day by day!

An absolute masterpiece in my eyes!

I agree with qrter...the fun is coming up with your own
version of the narrative decipehring the nadsat..which in
itself is pretty logical really
