Having just been paid & having recieved expenses I've just
been on an online spree-

Dreamcast Keyboard & vibration pack, Space Channel 5 & Dead
or Alive.

The question is, do I fork out £55 tommorow for a strobe
and red filter for a mate's coming home party?

Vote now...

no, pay someone a tenner to stand by the light switch all
night flicking it on and off.
Then buy £45's worth of drink and drugs and get hammered.

One of the reasons I'm tempted to do it is that I already
have all my drinks for the weekend sorted: 2 half bottles of
vodka, 1 litre of Gin & a bottle of white wine. So I won't
be spending money on that...

Get the strobe, make sure it will not affect anyone first
tho. Last time I was doing a set one guy couldnt come into
the main room cuz a strobe was blasting behind me and he
could fit from it.

Get a bigass bag of skunk too man. }:)

I would use it in my room at home for a laugh (we already
use a UV bulb in the hall from time to time). But it's not
like I DJ regularly or anything. I'm tempted to get a £30
one, but for I can't help feel it won't be anywhere near as
good.

If I had it I'm sure I'd take it to more parties etc. it
wouldn't be a one off thing.

If you have nothing else to spend the cash on get it. I'd
play with one of those for hours. ^-^ *pawpaws at pretty
lights as he swishes his tail*

I was going to get 2 cheap ones and make yellow and red
filters for them then make my own "brain machine".

I've just bought a couple of pairs of nunchukus.... a
training pair and a wooden pair..... O MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT
TO GET HOME AND TRY MY LAU GAR TECHNIQUES WITH THEM!!!

Ahhh the days of pissing those first few pay checks away!!!
I remember them well!

£55 for a strobe light! You must be kidding!!! Bollocks to
buying one of them! I'd be saving the money towards buying
myself a descent games console instead of flushing money
down the drain on Dreamcast accessories!

;)

I remember a Lau gar bloke I knew saying nunchukas were a
core weapon of the lau gar syllabus, what I other weapons do
you use?

In Dragon style we used mainly pairs of butterfly swords and
occasionally staffs.

All:
In the end I got two strobes and coloured filters. We
completely blocked out the light in one of the rooms and had
a mad underground rave style room.

Neeta:
DC is Great, I was playing Soul Calibur at the weekend and
have now completely unlocked everything. All I have to do
now is 3 more missions and it's all over :(

Well it's starts of with knives and staffs doing two man set
patterns, then on to butterfly swords and chinese
broadswords. They also use this huge fork thing that weighs
a tonne!!! Looks like a devil weapon! LOL...

I'm not supposed to learn how to use the nunchucks yet but
it wont hurt to try... (Well... it does physically!!) :)

It's still based mainly on close-quarter strikes and ground
based mid-level attacks. alot of hand movements and of
course; the 5 animals... These animals aren't in the same
vain as Lei(tekken) stances but jsut incorporating them into
the techniques.

alot of cool info and links.

Sounds cool. You need to be extra careful with nunchukas
(and all flail/whip weapons!), our master had a scar on his
neck from training with a chain whip...

I've never had a problem with hitting myself with swords (if
you mess it up it tends to only be a glancing blow),
probably because I fenced for years before doing kung -fu.
Mind you, our master once put a broadsword through his fore
arm by accident when he was younger :(

Have you ever seen a "Dragon heart pierce pole"? 5m long
staff! I've never seen one in use (meant to be one of the
hardest weapons to use well...).

you should be able to find a strobe for a lot less money,
and if i were you, i would spend more on a blacklight tube,
since blacklight bulbs are, as far as i know, nothing more
than regular bulbs painted purple. The tubes are very
powerful and give the neatest effects, especially in
combination with glow stars all over the ceiling =)

Yeah, I've noticed tubes are much better at giving out UV. I
want a small one so that I would be able to see my phat boy
dials and keys on my customised keyboard when it was dark.

The only problem is that in a house only kitchens have tube
sockets...

I ended up getting 2 £15 strobes, the £50 one was *huge*
easily bigger than those in most clubs. I was tempted, but
it would be stupid in a room my size.

You can get tube sockets with a cord and plug so your tube
is portable in a way. Costs a bit more but its a good
investment. Anyway, have fun!
