What is a prepared piano? Ever since Drukqs came out I was wondering myself what exactly a "prepared piano" was.

you stick various things onto the mallets? strings, whatever the hell is inside a piano that produce percussion. this results in odd percussive noises relating to the items you use. John Cage used to do it. Nothing new.

yeah, the original idea was to make the piano more like an orchestra----having lots of different timbres (or sounds)
