they've remade the 1998 japanese movie 'ringu' into the american movie 'the ring' due out later this year. it's a shame people will never know about or see ringu but maybe the ring will be good.

The original is a true horror movie....literally a work of art!
The American version will go the way of the Bourne Identity and turn it into an action packed pile of shite!!
I shall avoid it like the plague!

It is gonna be a travesty! Makes me wanna cry too! Laughed when I saw what they did with Bourne Identity - was a tense spy thriller with absolutley no action atall.....just a great story and a tense atmosphere.....now the yanks in holliwood have turned it into a fucking action fest with Matt Damon!!
MATT DAMON for christs sake!! The original was brilliant but now it is all poopy!!

Ahh..... just noticed...
Well since it's being remixed, I've just ordered it on Amazon.
The new ring won't have a touch on the old ring. So fucked up

lol....I love the first but it is all a little too dull for me now...
Always had a problem with those sort of games - too much aimless wandering and not enough combat!!!

All the copies i've seen in shops call it Ring, we saw it on tv and it was called that, then got the DVD's. it's just Ringu in Japann IIRC as the first time I heard of it back when it was first released it was just Ring.

The ring films got craper as the sequeled but saying that. The Ring 2 was a good film in its own right but you had to watch the first. Not a touch on the first tho

I still think the first is the best....but the 3rd, all about the main legendary charcter (no spoilers here please!!) confused things by making you wanna hate her for what she does in the other films, but at the same time, makes you sympathise with her for her mistreatment!!

well, i watched this movie by myself, and even though im not superstitious, that would have scared the living shit out of me..
i wonder how many of the people who saw it unplugged/switched off their phone/cellphone after the movie ended?
again, i'm not superstitious but i did.
