yeah, you can divide the whole net population into trekkies,
and starwars fans...

starwars just never did it for me.

anyways, the matrix is the next big "generation trilogy."
can't wait for part 2.

hey...i really tried to understand the matrix but it really
sucks big time..sorry...
keano reeves is probobly the worst actor i know of.
But im not going into tjis discussion with you about
starwars overall.
Ive been into starwars sen i was 5 years old and i still
love the crap... so please please.. star trek what is that?

well, i'm sorry that u dislike the matrix, seeing that it's
far better than starwars. Starwars just seems to be a
wannabe jim henson production with space muppets. And no
morals to any of the movies. Keanue reeves is a diffrent
story. I have mixed feelings about him, but i think he did
the role decently. Anyways, matrix is loaded with
reflections of society, zen budhism, self realization...i
could go on and on.

like u said before, let's not get tooo much into it. I can
fully understand ppl liking star wars from since they were
5. I think i saw it back then too. We all have our guilty
little pleasures.

good versus evil.

the original was stupid but naive so forgivable..
the Special Edition was unleashed with full knowledge of its
dumbness..that's unforgivable...

I really think the remastered version with the enhanced
graphix made the film much better than the original one back
in the 1970s. didnt the producer say he couldnt afford to do
it proper because he didnt have the cash or the technology
to make it how he watned it to look back then

Both the original and the special edition have good and bad
qualities. But I think I prefer the original for one
reason:

...GREEDO SHOOTS FIRST in the special edition. BULLSHIT.

original!
the se-scenes are too different to the original!
funny: in the german version darth vader has another voice
in ONE SCENE! it sounds so terrible! *lol*

I love see what it looks like in other languages. I wonder
if the DVD version will have that option - whenever they are
to be released!

Smyrma - I had forgotten that scene....yeah Greedo shooting
Han first was a mistake, they shouldn't of changed that. And
the Jabba scene wasn't as good as it couldve been. But the
rest is good. The new X-wing footage at the end of the film
it great, and the new shots of Mos Eisley are superb!

I don't think I've seen the originals, NOT remasterd... or
maybe I did. But I know I've watched the re-tooled 90's
versions. I liked them a lot, much better than the souless
Episodes 1 and 2.

I don't know the difference between the old and ''new''
scenes, but I DO know that 4, 5, and 6 have great stories
and characters. Effects, I kind of ignore.

the remastered version is better.
maybe i am sayin that beacause i havent seen the old version
in cinema (only in tv).
the new endin of rotj is quiete good- i cant find anything
fucked up there.

btw what is your ranking of SW parts (top3)?

1.empire strikes back
2.return of the jedi
3.attack of the clones

actually, it's the shaolin monks they're modeled after, not
the samuari (still laughing my ass off). I said ninja's
because i didn't know that star wars fans knew anything
diffrent.

offline skodt from Toronto (Canada) on 2002-07-28 17:00 [#00328091]

actually dude, the star wars story is a rip off an asian
one.
in the asian story, it wasn't the shaolin monks, it was
samurai.
later certain philosophical adn religious additions were
made to the characters because george felt that it was too
similar.
ex>the appearance.
they were created for episode 4-6 as ronin>master-less
samurai>the destrustion of the jedi order after the clone
wars.

The original. Re-doing scenes of a classic movie just coz
you can is lame. I like the old skool "analogue" feel of the
original.

You people that don't like Star Wars say it like you've
accomplished something. Congradulations?
