How about setting up a web site to organise it all? You know like a central information point...I would be well into the idea even though I am only new here. :)

WOW.....this sounds like tons of fun!
just a few suggestions if i may
- it's less expensive to fly into a major airport....so heathrow or gatwick would be more economical for out of towners!
- last minnow air travel is RARELY inexpensive...advance tickets are more reasonable however usually NOT REFUNDABLE so make sure you're really going before purchasing
- i think a house rather than a field would be nicer.....esp with the whole 'LOO' situation....plus the UK is not known for it's sunny weather....it would be messy....perhaps dangerous(if electronic equipment is plugged in), dirty....etc. a house would solve all that cos easy electrical access.....ze loo.....shelter....and well i think if it's remote you could play music as loud as you wanted!!!
- 6mos/1yr notice would be good....however it would be hard to keep the excitement that long....but assigning people different tasks may assure people would not lose interest.
- for those in the US....getting to either NYC or LA would be where you would be able to get better airfare...so if you're interested you'd have to get there to try to fly out...could save several hundred dollars!
thats all i can think of right now.....but it sounds like it could be loads of FUN! if i think of any other ideas...i'll post them here.
- the web site idea was a good one tho

well manchester is prolly a big airport in the UK.....but sadly for us Yanks....it would be pricey to fly to a smaller city. i would still check.....but London is relatively inexpensive.
i like your word LOO......although i got used to saying WC as well whilst in the OLD COUNTRY! ehhehe

Theres a place in St. Albans called Batchwood. I believe they rent themselves out for stuff. It's an old stately home that's been made into a club. They filmed some film called Sorted there. I'm willing to ask there. Anyone?

What do you reckon? I can get in contact with them for more details which if everyone thinks this'll be a good location.
I'm fairly sure that they'd let us provide our own DJs as well if we asked.
