is about a band that looks for a record contract then they
kidnap some people, then appears some giant reptile... and
then they are in a parallel dimension something like that

it's funny, earlier some people were complaing about Neto's
avatar, which i compared to Lolita. then someone asks about
it and he responded...weird.

they don't get her to do anything - rad the original book by
vladimir nabkov - it's incredible - really intense - the two
films of which the kubrick one is the best cannot do the
language justice

lol @ Jivver

i would hope they fake the sex scenes. It just looks like
its real or something. especially in the pics...and like in
the movie The Lover. it looked real. freaky

Have you read Kubricks Biography? It's really funny, he was
a right bastard sometimes. The Spartacus thing is good when
there are loads of extras and he just stares at them for
hours and hours getting people to move slightly in the
distance...a real perfectionist.

yeah what ABOUT the children? lol is this based on a true
story?

no as i said it's a novel by the famous writer vladimir
nabkov - first published 1959 - i'll write the stuff from
the back pf my copy for you..
2shot through with his mercurial wit, quicksilver prose and
heady, intoxicating sensuality, Nabkov's novel of a
middle-aged englishmans's passion for a honey-hued,
delicatly pubescent twelve year old American girl, has
become one of the worlds's great love stories .

i haven't no but i've admired him and his brutal sense of
humour and vision - i saw a programme about the making of
the shining once and it ws pretty mental how the vision he
had in his head came together ..
chris cunningham wored on a film that never came out he
started incidentally

Cunningham helped with the robot designs in AI for a year or
so too. The Biography is really well written , it's funny
and factual without being up kubricks arse. It covers
everything from him being a chess shark in NYC and a photo
journalist for 'time' I think it was up to his last
films.....anyway it's good.

The actress was 14. She played a character who was 12. They
used a body double for the sex scenes. I can't remember her
name, but she's really good in it ("child" actors can often
mess films up). One to watch out for (a la natalie portman
in leon)...

The one in the latest movie was 18. She is kinda cute, but
doesn't really cut it.

Heheh the rocking chair scene is great!

Eh? The Jeremy Irons one?

I saw an interview with the director when it first came out
and he said she was 14.

Still, I may be wrong. I've got it on DVD, I'll have to
check the making of in that...

When I said "one to watch out for" I meant she was a good
actress. After reading my post I saw the way it could be
construed.
