BTW both Rephlex and Warp hate when people just use their
record labels for mass handouts, so word the documentaiton
carefully

Ah well just do that then if you want, but its best to put
down inspiration and equipment usage, plus if you have used
samples off a sample disc you have to put the credits down
for that

RE: Documentation

Different record labels ask for different things. It'd be
worth checking each one out individually as it won't be so
obvious it's a mass mail :)

Some are also picky about format (MD only etc. so again have
a look first). Make sure you include your name on the CD as
well as the documentation, so if they get split up they will
know who you are.

I know, I did think a good idea for an internet startup
company would be for a fee you send out copies of an
artist's work on the correct format with the right
documentation etc. to however many record labels they're
prepared to pay for.

Then I decided:
a) Most starting bands are poor, hence no money in it.
b) Labels would get wise to the format you used for
documentation etc. / brand of CD you used etc. so you'd have
to cycle them regularly, thereby losing out the benefits of
doing it "en masse" whihc is how a company like that would
make a profit.

Sealab is the funniest show in the world.

On topic: I say send it to everyone! Maybe some will get
listened to and some won't, but the more you send out, the
more chance you get that someone will hear it and like it.
