IDM with guitars...

rob fragilenine from behind the lounge chair. from my angle i can see lots of dust, and some old tv guides. there is also a lot of unreleased music floating around here. very odd. on 2001-07-19 15:20 [#00016557]

What does everyone think about this? I'm thinking of adding
guitars to my music/remixes. By guitars I mean heavy
guitars, but not death-metal stuff. I will also cut them up
and loop them strangely, and use filters and other effects
on them. I will possibly work on an AFX remix and post it to
this board. Any comments/suggestions as to what other things
I should put into my songs? (I'm just trying to be a bit
more different/experimental than some of the other IDM
artists out there.)

Listen to 'Arched Maid Via RDJ' and you'll see that it's a
great idea. I also thought of adding guitars to my
electronic stuff... would be cool 'cause I'm also playing in
an alternative grunge band...

oh hey´, rob:
The link I posted to my band was blank, right?

I checked out your music, uh, not really my taste (I don't
really like the vocals that much) but it sounds pretty
good... I also had a slight bit of trouble navigating your
website as I don't know german. I was however able to
decipher 'musik' as meaning music..

Yeah, errr, well, most of this stuff I sung when I was,
like, fifteen, or so....
It's just a matter of taste.
where can I hear your music again? ;-)

I just downloaded all your stuff. It's in XM right? What
prog do you use?

I'm going to get a site like mp3.com and upload some of my
IDM-stuff. Hopefully you like it better than my
guitar-stuff. :-)

rob fragilenine from a place with no lights. i cant see anything. there is nobody here. i can occasionally hear people yelling about gorillas and donkeys. they live on 2001-07-19 15:58 [#00016573]

Yeah, I know...

But how did you make these XM-Files. How did you arrange
your songs?

@rob fragilenine: why are you so stupid? you aren't cool
with your long Location stuff.

i use fasttracker to make my music... i know its primitive,
but when I try to use other programs like fruityloops, my
music ends up sounding unprofessional... when I master my
ft2 music, I add effects like filter sweeps and reverb

The things I'm listening right now R pretty cool so far....
except for the drums...

but it's cool......
I use Sound Club to do my music... heard of it?

rob fragilenine from an on 2001-07-19 18:23 [#00016615]

nope, never heard of it...

you don't like my drums? i always thought they were quite
cool... although most of them are just cheap samples ripped
from sample cds or other tracker songs...
