the one that I listen to more times is LP5, but I also play
chiastic slide a lot... then maybe confield and amber

LP5, Confield and Gantz Graf. I'm very anal and I appreciate
their more anal releases.

ep 7 and The one with the dark grey sleeve (=ep5 ? I
should check that on autechre.nu)

Time for a confession:I never heard Confield. Is it worth
getting? What's so special about it?
Tell me cos I have the feeling I messed something.

supreme: check it out, it takes best things from lp5 and ep7
and combines them in the more mature way

Nacmat: you know, anal, as in psychology: obsessive
attention to detail and stuff

I'm playing Incunabla and Amber a lot lately... I'm liking
their more ambient early stuff. But Confield, I listen to
that every day, no matter what. So Confield wins!

basscadet mixes + amber + gantz graf

they are all really silver and metallic in sound -- very
cold and robotic. i love it.

mostly gantz graf at the moment.

the way i am with ae releases is that whenever something by
them is released, i spend more listening time to the newest
release than anything else

the last little while it's been Tri Repetae++... today it
was the second disc!! But, I do only have three Autechre
albums... but, LP5 is in the way... I dunno if there is a
group who music excites me as much as Autechre... well,
Boards of Canada definitely, but not many more...

ugh I can't stand Incunabula. trust me, I love everything
Ae has ever farted out including Cavity Job, I just find
most of Incunabula to be horribly dull. Of course, there
are exceptions.. Maetl, 444, Bike .. Autriche. ok maybe
it's not that bad. But it's their worst. I like mid-late
era work better.

offline nacmat on 2003-01-09 11:14 [#00507920]

it is not that I prefer their latest work, what i really
like is seeing the way the dive into future everytime...
with every release... I enjoy listeining to iincunabula cos
I like it, but also cos I can compare with their newer stuff

777 from Incunabula is simply wonderful! One of best Ae

I see where you are coming from. I also enjoy tracing their
roots with that release.. it's easy to see how tracks like
Basscadet and Maetl were their early experiments with
mechanized percussion and how Windwind and Kalpol Introl
were ambient experiments, etc. I guess to me it just
doesn't go much further than that .. in other words I find
it hard to appreciate it as its own release without thinking
'ugh, I'm glad they came out with Amber after this..'

Amber, Tri ++ and then Incunabula ( Bike, Eggshell, wind
wind...all to die for...lovely melodies...don't know how
anyone can diss it).
