Rich's religion

Big Al from CA on 2001-07-06 23:29 [#00012923]

What is it? Christian, atheist, buddhist, muslim...? Anyone
know?

Scary Bear on 2001-07-07 00:49 [#00012931]

Presumably atheist

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-07-07 01:49 [#00012943]

Probably christian or atheist, what does it matter? This is
a creepy post.

guilt from college, US on 2001-07-07 01:57 [#00012945]

I'd guess heavily agnostic.

What's so creepy about it? He's just curious... I would
guess atheist too.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-07-07 04:58 [#00012957]

It would be creepy, if i had a Messageboard made for me,
like this one for AFX, and people were talking about my
religion.

Um, ok. I didn't mean to be creepy. I just had been
wondering for a while. I would be disappointed if he was
any kind of theist.

PS. Richard probably thinks that just having a messageboard
AT ALL for him is pretty creepy, much less one that you guys
FREQUENT! I just found it to ask a question, geez.

He believes that the world is completely flat and stretches
to infinite in all directions and that 5 demons that reside
beneath the earthen plane created all that is, and randomly
stab people with invisible spears which is why people die.
He believes that a single all powerful entity that looks
like a pokemon resides above the earthen plane and counters
the forces of the five demons, resulting in an uneasy cosmic
equilibrium.

6, d00d... its 6 demons, didn't you read the FAQ ;)

Whatever. We don't sit around and talk about him all day.
This messageboard has had a lot of things discussed in it,
besides AFX.

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-07-07 10:52 [#00012992]

He probably doesn't have a religion.

It's not creepy - that's what this messageboard is for.

I reckon his probably one of those undecided people: not
pursuaded by religion but not, strictly speaking, an
atheist.

If he was religious I reckon he'd probably be a Hare Krshna
or something like that.

PostModernVancouver from Vancouver,Canada on 2001-07-07 14:46 [#00013003]

Ofcourse, its silly to debate this, but I'll just give ya my
2 cents, and I would go with Rich being Agnostic too..
Brian Eno is an atheist which sort of dissapoints me because
he such a remarkably intelligent and bright person, only
reason being that I find atheism too much of an absolute
belief also, thats why I think being agnostic is more
balanced. And Eno spouts all these amazing theories abotu
axial living, they grey areas, which in this case seems to
be far more black and white with him.( this doesnt make my
like him any less, he can believe what he wants)..
Gary Numan is an atheist also..

Could be he's a NEw Ager

dingle berry from on a small plastic chair breathing fire on 2001-07-07 17:52 [#00013009]

if richard d james can sing a song about "the milkmans wifes
tits" we can talk about his religion?? surely

Big Al from CA on 2001-07-08 04:54 [#00013101]

Well such a mathematical individual such as James would be
much more likely to be a man of logic and reason, rather
than a man of immaterial things like faith. But I don't
know, I'm an atheist sun worshipper, so there's lots of
different people out there. I just hope Rich isn't a
Christian.

takeshi on 2001-07-08 08:16 [#00013138]

he believes in something. i remember interviews where he has
talked about feeling like his dead brother protects him.

H3XAN3 [C6H14] from Melb. on 2001-07-08 10:11 [#00013154]

well he definitely ain't christian. i remember seeing
something somewhere (alliteration) where he takes the piss
out of christmas.

whatever, you don't need religion to be spiritual

Big Al from CA on 2001-07-08 18:47 [#00013202]

True, religion and spirituality are two different things. I
couldn't agree more. I just don't think I could stand it if
my favorite artist was in favor of something like
Christianity. Such a weird religion. Makes me cringe.
