Is it just me or do Blockbuster have the shittest selection
of films ever!
Whenever I feel like watching a film I think they MUST have
something decent by now but sure enough they never fail to
underwhelm me

I found Yiyi, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, and a
bunch of other good foreign films at my local Blockbuster
(and I live in a city of 9000...)

Maybe it's just the UK blockbusters. I've found that they
have a better selection than the average video store over
here.

Loogie::Thanx

One thing about this board is that people here in general
have pretty good movie taste.
I love it when you americans and uk people talk new good
movies because you see them about one month or so before
me.
I have downloaded many good movies because of this board ,
The Royal Tenenbaums and From Hell for example.=)

yeah probably is just the UK ones... in Oxford there is 4
and they're all shite

trouble is it's the ONLY video store round here

9000 people or 9000 blockbusters ?! :)

Well, my home town is populated nearly entireley by inbred
football hooligans and petty thieves, so we have an
especially highbrow selection of films in our local
blockbuster...

the blockbuster I go to here is alright I guess... I'm not a
mad movie buff who is renting something every night, so I've
only encountered one time when I couldn't find the movie I
wanted in Blockbuster, and that's because it's apparently
banned from it...

Here's a tip, most video rental places are a haven for old
video games. I've been to a lot that sell there old stock
for real cheap, keep a look out, you could get a real
bargin!! Though I hardly rent movie's now, it's mostly on TV
or buying DVDs.

I don't like blockbuster for two reasons:

1) They don't believe in widescreen DVDs. Now, I know a
lot of people don't appreciate the full original aspect
ratio of films, but it's important to me.

2) They won't carry Unrated or NC17 movies, like requiem
for a dream, unless they get an editied version, which is
the only one version they have.

blockbusters :)

i stopped going to blockbuster because they EDIT OUT SCENES!
the violent movies they carry have a lot of parts of scenes
missing. i found that out when i saw 'heat' with pacino
and deniro.

theyre supposedly a family video store. ever noticed they
dont have an adult section? or maybe it's just over here...
