we all know that when analyzed with a spectrograph program,
u can find a demon face in windowlicker

at first, i thought this was just another page about that
same thing...

BUT: theres somehting new here
scroll down, and ull see that when the settings are changed,
the face changes...
....to what looks like the face on the ICBYD cover!

ive never heard THIS mentioned before....
...i hope this is new

if it isn't.. may i be feasted upon by bacteria until i turn
into cheese

oh, btw the url is:
http://www.tp.spt.fi/~cleth/projects/aphexface/index.htm

Do you mean the second image down? I've seen that one
before.

it's the first time I hear it. why isn't it mentioned before
(on this site for example)?

it HAS been...

in fact, theres a section of this site about it (not the
messageboard, but the aphextwin.nu site itself)

but it (and other pages about this) only talks about the
first picture on that page (that the url leads too)

this page is the first time ive seen or heard about the
second picture..

is this new to other people as well?

I've never seen that first face only the ICBYD-ish face when
looking with a spectrogram.

The small sound you can download from the learn section
shows this ICBYD face, so it's not exactly new.

it must've been awfully freaky for the first person who
found these pictures huh? :)

never seen that new spectrograph of the face... that's cool

i suspect the person who discovered this had messed about
with this kind of thing before, and when he heard
windowlicker he recognised the kind of sound patterns...

well maybe, but you wouldn't listen to a song and say "Whoa,
there's a face in that song!!" :)

but yeah, I know what you mean... he probably just noticed
that it sounded weird or something, and tried it out...

It's a program called meta synth, it's a very distinctive
sound, you load a picture and press synthesize, voila! you
need a mac though.

metasynth is fun, i was wondering if anyone else knew about
it. it makes a very distinct sound (ie: the end of
windowlicker) that i don't think any other program can
produce readily. it's a pretty harsh noise, not very
musical, so when i hear it in a song i recognize it
immediately. i messed about with it before a couple times,
it's fun but totally a novelty (do you disagree?).

Check out a song called "Look" by Venetian Snares in a
Spectro program.

I've played around with setting to get it more vertically
strectched (I noticed it wasn't actually that deformed, just
squashed- at the bottom in particular). I hadn't managed to
"unsquash" it *this* much though...
