It really is fucking awesome. But that goes for ANY Autechre, eh? Some great beats on Tri Repetae.

I don't know why but Tri Repetae is probably my least favourite Autechre. I love "Leterel," I think it's one of their best, but the rest except for "Overand" seemed lacking somehow, like they were in a hurry to get the album out. However, since you're reffering to the ++ version of Tri Repetae, I would agree that Anvil Vapre EP (tracks 1-4 on disc 2) is some of the best Autechre out there.

Maybe not; I'm just going by how I personally feel about it. Not that it wasn't a good album, by all means, it was stupendous, just not quite up to Autechre's standards I reckon. I personally find Amber and LP5 the most accessible Autechre.

It's all feeling, like you said, and I feel they met their standards and surpased them with Tri Repetae.

it's not my fave album by autechre, but stud is one of the best songs they made, imo, and leteral and overand are quite nice, too.

y'know, "c/pach" is really good too.
this is definitely their most loop/sample based album, but the cool thing about it is how malleable they make the samples seem.

I like the track 'Second Bad Vibel' in particular, it's a nice, hard and menacing track. I mis that sometimes in newer Autechre albums...

it's weird though, how it's so hard and aggressive but still very clean.

Tri Repetae simply can't compete with the string of releases that followed it. I know it's probably their most critically acclaimed release but it doesn't measure up to LP5, EP7 or Confield.

it's a truly brilliant album, that one. to me, it's when it finally started; the crunchy beats and programming up front, warm, washing synth lines back in the mix somewhere. both amber and incunabula are great albums, but at tri repetae autechre started getting interesting...
such a landmark album.

one thing I really noticed about this album first when I got it was the quality production... This album sounds so clean, and the production is great... I find with Aphex Twin, the music sounds a bit murky, still excellent though...

hmm, personally I think Ae surpasses themselves, I think that the best is the last, though I still like Ep7 more than Confield...

I love Tri Repetae.. I think there's a lot more to it than meets the eye... -Though I suppose that could be said for all of Ae's records.
