really? why not? i'm laughing. you're probably right. i was thinking about how impulse reverb works -- the ideal impulse is time zero, but since that's not possible you want the shortest loudest sound possible. then you record the reverb of that and that's the impulse. inside the computer, it's matrix multiplication and the impulse is a convolutional kernel and.... it's kind of like dragging a screen across sand? it's hard to explain a convolution window if you don't know the maths in any case -- convolution compression doesn't exist? well hot damn what are we waiting for let's try it |

i should note i use the computer. the computer is wonderful because i can load up a palette of [complex math widgets] and make one and drop it on the virtual table and... oh, this one wants complex numbers? that's about how to do it, anyways. bake the math into legos and let me worry about wiring aftermarket concepts together |

i'm actually sick of working on music for a bit because it was like AAAAA! after all this shit a dedicated bubble to just... yeah... and i burned myself out right good. three weeks immersing myself in tresillo marbles and listening to... oh, that mexican OT probably my fave. trying to pick up spanish. then my rapper breaks his ankle, the trial of fruity loops expired. i rebuilt my marbles with reaper and vcvrack and i need to finish porting that from his GamerBro windows PC to my macbook so i can just go mobile but even that was like.... dog sits down dog is tired no more walking. that injury really killed our nrg. in fact, i'm posting xlt blather again now because music is no longer pwning my steam to blow off budget and instead i have a lot of awful crap to deal with because i am unfortunate enough to be an american in 2025 |
