anyways, to answer the thread: black people are woke
central, black people are pretty homophobic; do the math. is
it racism if it's truth bullets?

by your average race hierarchy marxist progressive.

dilbert sucks compared to far side.

"inclusivity" is bullshit.

The best things (it doesn't matter what race, gender, creed
or anything else) are made for specific audiences. If you
try to be inclusive towards everyone, you end up making woke
dogshit.

Dunno what you mean by inclusive. If you mean a movie or
show that has some black and gay characters stuck in as an
afterthought, that can be dire.

But one of my favourite movies of the 2010s is A Fantastic
Woman (2017) about a trans woman. Highly recommended. The
less you know about it the better.

Watch here, good adblock extension recommended

What I mean by Inclusivity in quotes is the notion that art
should be made to be inclusive. It's an offshoot of
Representation, also in quotes... the idea that you should
see yourself represented in the art you consume. I'm sure a
small segment of people always felt this way, but it didn't
gain traction until identity politics started melding with
corporate edicts.

The notion itself is stupid, but the way they're going about
implementing it is even worse. Shoehorning in the most basic
shallow "representations," always in a virtuous light, as
storytelling slowly reaches an entropic point of
homogeneity. How about a dysfunctional, abusive lesbian
couple for once? Again I'll point out, the fault lies in
late stage capitalism-- corporate cultures trying, for some
unfathomable fucking reason, to court these ideological
idiots. I do not understand it. It's not making them any
money.

Have you ever felt represented by a character in a story,
TD? I haven't, not really. I've never looked at a white man
and been like, "that guy is supposed to be me, because he's
male and white." Closest was probably
Gale Boetticher in Breaking Bad. He got very little screen
time, but his stated politics, the books in his house, and
his general attitude reminded me a little bit of me. His
character was probably gay, btw, which I am not-- but I
consider that to be "surface level" representation on the
same level as skin color.

Anyway thanks for the rec, I'm sure that's good if it's told
with any level of authenticity. I also still remember you
recommended either Black Mass or Midnight Mass, whichever
one ISN'T the low reviewed Jonny Depp mafioso biopic. It's
still on the list as well.

The vodka flows and one last post appears. My last 2 cents
on the case of Woke v. Gay.

I shit on late stage capitalism there, and I definitely
believe it's the cause of the decline in culture and art in
the last decade. It's is not the fault of government, as
right-wingers attempt to lead you to believe.

I also shit on marxism. The reason is because the cowardly
corporations diversity hired a lot of pathetic self
proclaimed marxists (like the guy who wrote the Dilbert
article) into key positions to achieve some sort of equity.
Higher education churns these losers out, because you're not
really allowed to have another opinion unless you want to
face ostracization. It's their hiring pool now.

To be clear: I have no problem with old school, economic
Marxists. The perfect utopia, a Star Trek situation (well
Star Trek before wokelings, diversity hired into the writers
room, wrote the federation as an evil, fascist entity in
Picard and STD) was a fictional example of Communism
functioning well. All you need is an infinite source of
energy in dilithium crystals and matter replication, and
hey, it works just fine.

The marxists I'm talking about DO, to the last man, call
themselves marxist. But their bourgeoise is the status quo,
it's men, it's whiteness, it's the patriarchy etc. Their
proletariat is anyone who feels disenfranchised in this
shitty, overpopulated world. Their methods of correction,
however, are equity through authoritarianism (they call this
revolution), same as economic (real) marxism.

When you combine the worst of capitalism (merger after
merger, risk avoidant corporate behemoths), with diversity
hired cultural marxists, you get the *worst art possible.*

i would say scott adams is sad, really. not in the
sad clown sense, even if rage is depression turned outwards
(it can be. it does not have to be)

no, scott adams is just a might bit of a sad sack. there was
a way to express his feelings that didn't involve 1080p
ranting, but he left it in his other pants

dilbert sucks compared to far side.

i view this opinion as invalid. incoherent.
defungible. like, sorry, i didn't hear you. did you
just say, "gigabyte mainboards suck compared to prussian
blue"? because these are not compatible... stuff

far side is a gem. eternal. the man found the wacky knob,
turned it to 11, then held the mic to a speaker. but i can't
recall much resulting other than, like, don't read a whole
far side calendar wad at once; you'll bruise a rib

dilbert, though, like... "the dilbert principle" is required
reading for people getting a masters in business. that at
least some of you will know, "...they're having the work
done in Elbonia." the pointy-haired boss. asok

far side guy just got fed up and quit one year. started
doodling again when he got a tablet and got hooked on it; no
real plan

scott adams should take a lesson and just retire. i'm sure
he has enough money. he will be cited far more than far side
ever will. you've smashed your toys; please go home sir

Sort of, yeah. The hell of it is, neither the woke grifters
nor the antiwoke grifters are interested in discussing
authentic Marxism because they don't really want to upset
the apple cart of class privilege, and they're rewarded for
not doing so, by speaking engagements, newspaper columns,
book sales, workshops, etc.

So they keep political discussion on the level of pronouns,
representation in MCU movies, and how large the female
character's honkers are in a videogame.

Regarding inclusivity, I enjoy a movie or book when it puts
me in the shoes of someone radically different from myself.
Though I can understand the appeal, if you're black, of a
movie where the black roles aren't stereotypes but fully
realized POV characters.

NPR Layoffs

byline: npr 10% layoffs. record ad revenue but expect it to
plummet. quote

When asked about his priorities, Lansing invoked what he
has called the network's "North Star'' since his arrival in
the fall of 2019: a push to ensure the network has a bigger
and broader audience base, rooted in younger and more
diverse listeners, readers and consumers. The emphasis, he
says, must be on drawing in "the future audience to make NPR
sustainable for the next 50 years."

my reaction to reading this: ohhhh, that fucking explains so
much. why marketplace will suddenly do this hard, awkward
transition to, "so what about black people?" and meanwhile
the podcasts have been jammed more full of ads about more
annoying crap, and i skip past the black people crap like
the ads. meanwhile they've cut stuff i liked for "but what
about black people"

that, i guess, i remember listening to "a celtic sojourn"
with the motormouth brian o'donnovan, and that is
admittedly, like, vermont-grade white people shit. then i
also loved listening to car talk, which is just two trollish
guys from boston answering calls about car questions. also
pretty white

and, yeah, i dunno. maybe you're in the shit because you're
chasing after people that don't listen to your station and
irritating people who have been listening for decades?

but, sorry, i guess i'm white and entitled. have fun killing
NPR

what's that about? either american football or aerospace.
i'm not good on sports references; you'll have to fill me
in.

once, i was at a bar and "sharks" were playing "penguins"
and you'd think it'd be an easy bet on the sharks. however,
this was hockey. it was on ice; the sharks lost.

as for jets:
