mark my words, if trump does not get the nomination, he will
create some disasterous MAGA-party and split the republican
vote. fingers crossed

dont take this too seriously, but lets say...
trump forms a third party which would get a notable amount
of votes, could it possibly break up the two party system?
could it lead to a huge democratic party win for the next
elections? could this furthermore result in a more dynamic
party system? :O i mean i kind of dread a parties that build
upon populistic campaigns, but this could enable the system
to generate more precise programmes.

whoomp there it is

I reminded Wilson of this part of our conversation when
we touched base last week. “He is a political suicide
bomber,” Wilson said. “All Trump has to do is say,
‘OK, you don’t like me? I’m going to run as an
independent.’”

Which presumably would make it hard — impossible? — for
a Republican, for any Republican, Ron DeSantis or not, to
win the White House in a general election.

“Let me tell you something,” Wilson said. “Donald
Trump would rather Joe Biden be president for a thousand
years than Ron DeSantis be president for five
minutes.”

where do you live?

not asking for a street address -- mind the mermaidman --
but US? which part? always or a transplant?

because i am, again, confused as to the reaction. that,
actually, shit -- i'm talking about 2024, and if anything
i'm arguably in the wrong for this whole tangent; sorry. but
if you'll accept it:

the idea that going beyond a two-party system will "fix"
things is precisely like england thinking brexit will "fix"
things. that "things" are not that "simple" and many more
layers of quotes are required to get to the truth about the
truth about the distortions of the truth about the truth
about the the truth about the disortions of the...

with the super-pac crap, dark money now rules large. that,
"vote, it's your only voice" -- this is a lie. it's true,
it's an important part of what voice you have; vote. but
your deeper vote is your wallet. whoever can hurl the most
into their superPACs wins the election; it's not democracy
it's a bidding war now. so that's why you see literally a
billion dollars going into the georgia senate runoff; most
of that did not come from within georgia; fuck no. those
poor people must be irritated to shit.

i see what you mean, as money rules all, but,
comparing brexit and voting
is a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
the eu is a union to stabilize trade and currency
and it makes a difference whether you´re in or out.

its also does make a difference if you vote, even in a two
party system, money is spent a little differently and maybe
more to your benefits.

i dont know why the money buys the presidency in the us.
well i heard some about it, in the news etc, but my guess
still is the more parties, the more those interests and
party funding have to split up, meaning certain interests
still will get more cleary adressed and maybe will have to
fight for more diverse voters interests aswell.

or sadly sometimes a more common ground, like, "less
immigrants, means more money for me"

i live in the 52nd state known as the federal republic of
germany and im very happy about it in a great many deals of
things. not, the weather .-)

i dont know why the money buys the presidency in the us.
well i heard some about it, in the news etc

it used to be three TV channels in black and white, and
people read books because they had nothing to watch.

meanwhile, education has been cut, neglected, cut some more,
blown up by the pandemic, now under pressure from extremists
on both sides.

if people are uneducated, they become a lot easier to
manipulate. instead of everyone only getting the same three
channels, they can isolate themselves in comfy bubbles of
only what they want to hear. they can pretend problems don't
exist. they can re-enforce each others' warped view of
reality...

...but isn't that how all of humanity works?

democracy doesn't just stay there; it takes work. the
safeguards to prevent billionaire-scale political
contributions were torn out. the people are uneducated,
balkanized, and too angry to think straight. trump just
pulls a steak (with ketchup) out of his pocket and throws it
at nancy pelosi and a bunch of dogs attack her because It's
What Trump Said

but really, crap education is the core

w/rt crap education, example:

you see ads for, like, some anti-wrinkle cream "with DNA
compounds" to "reverse aging" etc etc

science class comes back to me: "DNA is a highly polar
molecule, and thus, it cannot penetrate the skin. What a
load of horseshit"

if it didn't work, they wouldn't pitch it like that. i catch
things like this all the time, and this has led to a
universal defensiveness: "so, where's the scam this time?"

if you don't repeatedly catch them like that, you never
learn the skill of sifting out the grift. you just rush onto
the internet and buy acai berries and go on a keto diet and
use your FTT to trade meme stocks on robin hood and... then
there's this vague sense you've been screwed somehow,
somewhere, in fact it's quite clear... but you've not the
marbles to figure it out. time for some bastard to come up
with "Q" to continue to lead you by the nose so hard you've
not a moment to process

i mean, it's not just people looking to sell you stuff. the
town water here, i don't trust it. they were temporarily
exceeding their PFAS levels and then sent out a form saying,
"look, we're compliant now" and i note that absolutely every
value is tied with the "compliant threshold" and it's
obvious: did anyone fudge this a bit? did they just pick a
good day?

so, such a horribly un-liberal thing to do, i stopped
drinking it. instead i get cases of bottled water. in
plastic bottles. i'll even use it for the rice cooker and
boiling water for pasta.

been at this status for months, and i just recently found a
bit i missed "due to shortage of chemicals we are no longer
fluoridating our water supply" and yeah now everyone
drinking this will get more cavities.

[sidebar: the paranoia about flouride in the water, fucking
trash paranoia that goes back to the 60's when someone mixed
it up with putting LSD in the reservoir (terrible idea;
never happened thankfully)]

but i know the bottled water doesn't have that either, so i
use mouthwash. i wonder how many other people in this whole
tin think this way? "well this water isn't flouridated and
so i should shell out for mouthwash because that matters"

it'd be an interesting statistic.

yeah its been pretty much run down,
tough to snap out of it.
hardly anyone still cares.
the poor polling alone speaks volumes.
i dread the future

as much as undereducated people are sold bs, its funny how
almost any educational level still has the power to kind of
neglect reality, when the wish for a miracle is strong
enough, like never aging skin lol. its definitely harder to
sell educated folks bs but its still way too easy.

there should be a study as in how much the constant
bombardement with commercials and its way of constantly
being lied to becomes a norm. everybody knows commercials
dont tell the truth, but we kind of accepted it and still
seek for the itty bit of truth in it that makes us like a
product. so this acceptance of a foul trade in everyday life
may have a reality bending effect overall.

heres a funny example of reality in nba games:
of course they have commercial breaks and sponsor logos
everywhere.
but then theres ads within the game like who presents a
statistic, a replay, even a freethrow underlined with a
visual ad. whats weird is when the commentator seemingly
speaks freely and sometimes without changing his voices tone
even reads out a commercial, as if it actually was him
talking. now thats already multiple layers of ads.

then there is the fact that there are always two types of
commentators. one describes the plays like a corporate
puppet advertiser without any ANY bias or criticism. if a
players head would be ripped clean off erupting in a blood
fountain and the ref missed the call he would say "oh looks
like he lost his head!" the other type usually a former
player appears to speak freely in contrast to the puppet.
but thats an illusion aswell as even if they say thats a
missed call its rare to hear someone criticise the league or
or their team (their employers!) and home court commentary
is completely biased. the same foul call gets the opposite
evaluation on the other stream easily half of the time.

the only commentators that criticise or appear to be
truthful and mainly non-biased are those of national
broadcasts like TNT.

sometimes its hilarious and you know how the commentators
make fun of it too. but, there is still lies in every
gradiation, just alongside each other as if it were
perfectly normal to live in a world where right is wrong and
vice versa according to who you want to please.
